Make Some Mods Official

So I Have been playing some Mods recently and having a really good time but It got me thinking how cool would it be if some of these mods were mad official? What if 343 picked some of the Community’s top mods and made them official content in The Master Chief Collection? Mods can be a real pain some times to install and if you want to play with friends they have to have the same mods installed and sometimes you cant play online with them because of anti cheat disabling online play and Console users just straight up cant play them at all and are missing out on so much fun, so what if they were made official so Console uses can play, so people can play online and you don’t have to go to all the instillation difficulty because its already there in the game for everyone already .
I think 343 should hold a coemption or something to see what peoples top mod picks are and then add some of the best ones to MCC officially.
Now I know not all mods cant be accepted Like the Star Wars one for example because of licensing reasons so the mods that are choses will have to be Halo Exclusive but even then there are some really cool ones out there.

Here are some of my Top Picks

Sidenote, jeez, some of this community is weirdly mean with those fish-hook emojis huh? Have some mercy you guys lol.

343i absolutely should invoke the help of high quality modders and officially implement the cream of the crop mods into MCC for both PC and console. I hope and expect them to extend their MCC support beyond this year, however, if they do stop or wind-down, a mod implementation program becomes vital.

Here are some examples of mods I’d like to see officially implemented into MCC:

  • Bug fixes! Like the ‘Unofficial Patch’ mods for the Bethesda games. But hopefully 343i fixes most if not all bugs first.

  • UHD Texture Packs and other remaster mods which don’t change the style and vibe of things(like CEA did - changing CEA would be nice though) just enhances and polishes the games. This is something that could be an optional download.

  • Weapon Packs. There are certain weapons that I’d like to see shared into some MCC titles. Here are a few examples:

  • CE Energy Sword for CE. Have always wanted this and it would open up the possibility for CE Infection.
  • Honour Guard Spear for H2C/H2A.
  • Reskinned Sticky Detonator for H3.
  • New maps which are additional and don’t replace pre-existing maps. Particularly for CE which has very limited map selection. Would love CE The Pit and CE Guardian and CE Backwash etc.

  • New Forge items and overhauls.

  • New armour/cosmetics; that are lore accurate.

When exactly do you want that? I really like the idea to breathe new life into this husk of a game but:

  • they somehow managed or thought it was a good idea to launch Forge without a custom games browser

  • it took them several months to fix some incredibly basic stuff like alignment issues for the protractor crowd

Note: That Bonobo “issue” and shop-related issues can get fixed within a day though.

I estimate that it will take them at least one year to add maps to the rotation. Mods will not be added because they’ll take some popular modes and somehow manage to suck the fun out of them or mess them up, i.e. covert flag or whatever it’s called.

Although this is MCC and not Infinite, it’s still applies because if they can’t get their prime title in a working state, how can anyone except to find some fixes and additions to their back burner game that has its development outsourced.

They can’t even be bothered to add a new season, instead all crap is thrown into the exchange because they wanted to monetize it (and probably will do so in the future) and weaponize FOMO to the max. It really is infuriating.

What MCC needs is a simple mods folder for each game and mod launcher that allows you to sort mods by game. Star Wars Empire at War did it best.

I agree with the principle of this concept. I just think it should only be executed so long as the mod creators get the proper credit. It’s their mods after all. A lot of these mods probably take a lot of time and money (in the case of some major projects).

With that being said, it would be really awesome to see some of these ideas brought over officially into MCC. Also, having the ability to download mods in the in-game menu would be awesome, like Skyrim. Yes, I get that Skyrim is a single player game while MCC has online multiplayer features in it. But I’m sure there’s some content that 343 could add that wouldn’t hurt the online aspects, like the green/blue screen effects for example.

Plus, it would be nice to be able to download modded maps for Custom Games.
