I Just bought Halo 5 2 days ago. While at first i was ready to hate in the game, i am actually enjoying the feel of multiplayer. I only have one problem that stucks out the most to me. Shoulder charge, ground pound, and hover aim are not available to toggle.
To be perfectly honest, i dislike shoulder charge a great deal but i can live with it. My only wish is that it be set as a toggle. Perhaps even holding RB when sprinting to charge would help. When i am running up behind someone i just want to melee them. I dont want them flying backward and ruining the position advantage i had. Now they have an angle on me and can get shots off in the small window of the animation.
Ground pound is another thing i can live with, however i would be much happier if i could turn it off. I rarely use it in any given situation. You may think “you have to hold the button to charge it” and you would be correct. The only problem is the window seems to be too small. Me and my friends have found that just tapping the button sometomes trigger the aim for ground pound and leaves us in the air vulnerable for a split second. A split secind is all it takes to get you killed.
EDIT: my apologies. You can toggle off the auto stabilize. Oops
While i enjoy Halo 5 and have always loved halo, these few abilities being automatic instead of completely optional really frustrate me. In my opinion they ruin the rhythm/pacing of the game. But as i said. I could live with them if they were available to toggle in the options. Unless there is some underlying reason they arent, i dont see why they couldn’t/shouldn’t
You can toggle off the hover when you jump+scope in, it’s under auto-stabalize I believe in the menus.
Aerial Melee - One of my biggest issues with H5 is the in air melees are so delayed they can’t be effectively used very often. I have talked to a lot of people about this as well, they bring it up and we just go on and on about it. Is it because of the groundpound? Does that somehow interfere with it? If so is it possible to make groundpound a double tap or even triple tap (press the button once and/or a second/third time the last time being the hold) which could def work because if you were to jump to bash melee you would have time for one bash. Or of course make it optional to turn off like the stabilization jets, please help fix this, thank you.

I think thats what it is. The script for the ground pound interferes with the melee. The melee does seem to be delayed. Like the game is tryingnto figure out which you want to do
