make reqs work for Halo 6

The current REQ system in Halo 5 is a mess. I don’t think any rational person would like to spend 300+ in-game hours just to get all the REQ’s you don’t want out of the way. There is no problem with spending that much time unlocking items in multiplayer but if 80% of the REQ’s are meaningless fillers then we have problem. 343 knows that we don’t want five different variations of Athlon, they know that the only REQ’s that are worth a damn are Ultra rares/Legendary’s and maybe a couple of lower tier. Just take a look at legendary armors, they look well designed and how Halo armor should look, then look at pretty much everything else… most of the armors are downright disgusting. Did 343 do that on purpose? So that legendary armors would stand out more and nobody would be happy to unlock anything below that? What do you think when you open a REQ pack? Do you feel happy that you’ll finally unlock something or do you open them just to get to the legendary’s?

The problem here is that cosmetic items are a part of the REQ system. There is no fun in unlocking permanent unlocks unsing an RNG system, it’s frustrating and unsatisfying. Single use items however work far better with an RNG system and that’s why it fits Warzone so well. If 343 wants to continue using the REQ system for future Halo titles then they seriously have to tweak it. The REQ system has turned a potentially great Halo game into a jumbled mess when it comes to progressing. Here are my suggestions for improving the REQ system.

  • Keep the REQ points budget system (or any budget system) - Seperate cosmetic items from the REQ system (lol 343 is never gonna do that but hey I tried) - Have REQ packs contain weapons, vehicles, power ups and other relevant items for use in Warzone. - Have cosmetic items DIRECTLY purchasable with REQ points (for example: Noble helmet costs 10.000 REQ points and Centurion helmet costs 80.000 REQ points) or have them be unlocked by a MEANINGFUL challenge (No Achilles BS) - REQ points are only obtainable by playing the gameNow players can unlock items without an RNG system while 343 can still apply micro-transactions. The goal here is to find a way in which micro-transaction don’t interfere with the game while still being present and successful so we can keep our free updates…that should have been there at launch… but you get the point.

I would like to see the Credit system from Reach make a return, so REQ points are not spent on packs but are spent on a chosen piece of armour to unlock, instead of an RNG slot machine,

A ranking system from Halo 3, and REQ system styled in the form of Reach credit unlocks, and Halo 6 will satisfy a lot of people

I wouldn’t count on the REQ system not being in Halo 6.

It would definitely be cool to choose what you would like to work on unlocking. I would definitely like for Halo 6 to have a more Reach approach to customization, it would also work well for the REQ system so hopefully it ends up being a win win.

No! Just get rid of the REQ System all together and make people have to earn everything like MCC. I for one will never be fan of anything that goes off of luck :four_leaf_clover:.
