Currently unless you’re playing in the DLC playlist which has maybe 300 players on a good day your just not gonna get any of the new maps. Making them free would fix this problem and build some momentum leading into the championship bundle. Also halo 4 has sold well over a million copies 343 isn’t struggling to find cash to fund halo 5 they can take a hit on what for them is literally a drop in the bucket.
I doubt this would happen would but it would be nice. However anyone who already owns the DLC would be mad that they had to pay for it and other didn’t. However it would greatly increase the population because you could make DLC Team Slayer and DLC Big Team Slayer. I think a DLC sale would work better. Something like half of DLc for a 2 weeks would draw people to buy them all now before they jump back up to ten bucks a pop.
Perhaps as a limited offer for the games anniversary in November they become free for a week to purchase. i bought them and wouldn’t want them to be become totally free and doing so after how long the game has been out would be almost an insult to those who bought them.
No , map packs should never become free unless there is a reason yes people may get them but a sale would do better as the other guy said. It’s not that expensive.

Yeah that would be better actually however they should release one of them for free and keep the rest as a sale (both ideas I’ve said are during the sale they all return to normal prices after) this way people will be encouraged to buy the other DLC and more people will play on the DLC maps with one of them being free. Similar to the Heroic map pack in halo 3.
For the 500th time, we (ones who paid when they came out) don’t want people who didn’t pay up to get them free. That wouldn’t be very fair, now would it?

That’s a very selfish way of thinking of things people who paid got them before everyone else . Also whats the point of having the maps if you never get to play on them?

I also paid for the DLC but I support making at least one free for a limited time to get more people to play this way your not getting ripped of.

Crimson DLC has this exact “offer” when it came out, the entire map pack was available to anyone for two weeks.
Don’t expect any of the DLC to ever go free while Halo 3 and Halo Wars both have full priced DLCs.
I paid for all 3 previous map packs and I sure wouldn’t mind if they made them free for everyone. It frustrates me alot more not to be able to play the maps I paid for that it would if others got them for free several months after their release.
I’ll pay the 10 bucks to own a new map pack on the day of its release, and if others get it for free say 6 months later, I don’t mind at all. Because right now its just ridiculous how they never show up.
I’m going to get the Champion Bundle on the 20th, and if they make it free in 6 months so be it. I’ll pay to have it NOW. Even though as it is I’m wondering how much I’ll get to play Pitfall and Vertigo…

Well why not again couldn’t hurt that much especially if its only a 3 day sale. I don’t remember this offer with the crimson DLC being offered.
The heroic map pack is free and is the only one of its kind and this allowed more people to play on more maps which many DLC people want. Most people benefit and its not like its free forever. I never said I expected it to be become totally free since that would be wrong.

Microsoft tends to put DLC on sale every few months or so, all three map packs and the map pass itself were on offer a few months back.

How about another sale on Nov 6 to mark one year of halo 4 this sale lasts one day
Crimson DLC free or 50% off
Majestic DLC 25% off
Castle DLC 25% off.
This will get lots more people to buy it and if bot many people do at least there will be lots more people playing Crimson.
Honest question. If people didn’t buy them last time they were on sale, why would that sale be different?

Feel free to suggest it to Microsoft, they handle DLC sales, not 343i. They just make the content.

The most likely reason as to why the Heroic Map Pack ended up being free is because it has no achievements tied to it.
I don’t think I have ever seen free DLC with achievements tied to it.
> Honest question. If people didn’t buy them last time they were on sale, why would that sale be different?
It wouldn’t people don’t want to pay for maps that will never show up and since each map pack caters to a different player limit its impossible to have an ALL DLC playlist.

Before someone goes and tells you GoW1 had free DLC with achievements tied to it, Halo has never done this.
> Honest question. If people didn’t buy them last time they were on sale, why would that sale be different?
The lower price may seem more reasonable to them.

Hmm, well I stand corrected then.
