I’ve been having this issue for a while but I’m finally annoyed to the point where I feel it necessary to make a topic. Anyway, my issue is that the static respawn times for power weapons causes it to where eventually half or more of a big team-sized team(4-8 players) can have power weapons & just make one team completely defenseless. I’ll use the map Basin for an example. Anyway, say it’s slayer or strongholds on Basin, the constant spawn switching from regular gameplay can eventually(& often does) lead into one team & multiple players on said team having both snipers & basically being able to keep weapon spawn locations on lockdown so that the other team has next to no chance at getting any of the 3 HUD-noted power weapons(either snipers or Incineration Cannon). My idea/possible solution is to do what, if I remember correctly, either HALO 3 or Reach did by making it so that power weapons will not respawn until the previous one has been emptied & dropped.
I agree that the power weapons would be more balanced, but then the timing on spawns would be completely out of wack.

I see where you’d think that but, like I said, one of the past HALO games made it so that it would still have the same 2 or 3 minute spawn timer but it wouldn’t actually spawn until after the previous one was used up & dropped and/or despawned from being dropped by a player that died. Like, for example, I used to be able to constantly keep the Spartan Laser on me in many of the Reach BTB maps because I was able to drop the old, depleted battery Laser for a random weapon on the ground & then rush to the Laser’s & grab it before anyone else even knew it respawned. Anyway, my point from that is that there would only be 1 SpLaser on the map.
So instead of the game dictating when the power weapons spawn you want to leave it to the players who already have them on lock down?

They may have the power weapon spawns on lockdown but at least the way I’m saying there won’t be any chance of multiple people on the same team all having snipers. Using Basin as an example again, the way I’m talking about will make it so that there will only ever be 2 snipers at any given time instead of a potential 3-6(or more if none of the players using them use them quickly). I don’t always have the luxury of playing with friends so when I play solo & I have randoms on my team & when myself or the randoms have a bad game, or even a bad start to a game, & then halfway through start being spawn-killed repeatedly regardless of where I spawn because there are 3-6 snipers in the hands of the enemy team gets annoying.
