Right now plasma weapons feel very weak and timid compared to the UNSC weaponry. According to the books plasma is so hot that it burns your flesh to the bone. It can melt steel too. With the next gen hardware I think it would be awesome to have plasma weapons seem a lot more badass. I want plasma to shoot faster and it needs to make a louder sound when you shoot it. Aso when it hits an inatiname object their should be a sizzling noise. Like it’s melting through the object. Plasma weapons should also take down shields faster than bullets but kill the target slower. This is just a suggestion, feel free to give your opinion.
The Storm Rifle also appears to shoot pebbles…
As with the Plasma projectiles doing extra shield damage, that’s how they are intended, but the Storm Rifle completely contradicts that.
I’d prefer the Plasma Rifle to return, as it is my favorite weapon by far and it’s also very iconic for me.

Yah it feels like your playing paintball not handling very deadly alien technology. Also the plasma rifle should slow opponents down when you shoot them just like in halo: ce.:
Hopefully with new graphical enhancements we will get more plasma-like weapons.
In the past, they were basically just solid blue blobs of light. They don’t make me think of plasma.
They should take a look at borderlands 2 weapons if they are out of ideas for new designs man that game has awesomesaucse weapons.
…
I like the Storm Rifle, even though it sounds like a cotton ball gun.

Meh, the energy weapons there are the same overly-flamboyant purple zap guns that we’re saying 343 should get away from. What I’d like to see 343 look at is…well literary sci-fi like Isaac Asimov’s foundation. Where you have buzzing electro-bolts in the style of a 1930’s action serial where in the 50’s Foundation you have some truly impressive weaponry. Clap-boom and that man is missing most of his torso. We don’t need to go so gruesome but we can definitely axe some of the obnoxious flair that’s become synonymous with sci-fi shooters.
343i could start by reverting the audio and models to their pre-Halo 4 forms. That way they’d look and sound more alien, as well as be recognizable as the Covie weapons we all know and love from the trilogy. Then they could build off of those sounds to make them sound a bit scarier, make the weapons a bit more effective, and give the plasma visual effects to make it seem hotter, such as brighten it, give it heat wave things, and make it melt stuff. I’m sure they could pull that off with the Xbox One’s capabilities.
I agree. Instead of a feather-dustery “Phnew phnew phnew” like the Halo 1 plasma rifle, it would be a lot cooler to have them go “DSSH DSSH DSSH” in true flesh-melting fashion, if you can decode my bizzarre onomatopoeia. Case and point: In Halo 4 the gravity hammer makes a generic “BOOF” sound, in Halo 3 it was a distinctive and terror-inducing “vuh-DUUUUUUSSSSSSH”. Hence why I now equate that sound with someone getting a killtacular.

Exactly my point. Weapons need to sound terrifying. Especially ALIEN ones.

But the sounds is Halo 4 sound realistic!! The plasma shooting through the air super heating it and making pooping sounds, or gravity hammers compressing air around it and then releasing the gravity energy is a burst than makes a high pitched sound!!
It’s all very realistic.
