Make 'pitstop' free!!

The pit is the coolest map to play on! And the most evened out. But I haven’t played it once in mathmaking since they got rid of the playlist… and we love our pit

343 should definitely update the game giving away at least one free map (pit) come on. Y’all know you agree

You mean give away one free map that is attached to a map pack.

Do you see why this wouldn’t work?

You want a free map? Forge island awaits you.

“Pitstop”?

Anyway, 343 doesn’t handle the pricing of their DLC.

Nothing is Free at 343i, when you buy a map pack you only get it for a few weeks then you never get it again welcome to the new Halo. My suggestion stop buying DLC that’s what i’m doing. DLC needs to be required not an optional thing

What about Forge Island and Spartan Ops season 2?
Were they not free?

> DLC needs to be required not an optional thing

Not if we have to pay for it. Eww.

Sir, Forge Island was free, if you really want to count that as a usable map. (3 flat rocks and an ocean) by all means you are 100% correct. However IDK what your talking about season 2 spartan Ops. There has only ever been 1 season of spartan ops. The first season was broken up into 2 parts due to a six week break. Because 343 could not do what they said they were going to do. Which was new weekly content each week. I would also like to point out the fact that even though Forge Island is free there are still many players who have not yet downloaded it. I go back to my point that DLC should be required to play online.

DLC should be required for all players and yes you would have to pay for it. In halo 3 many of the playlist required DLC as a result players were forced to buy DLC and people actually got to play on DLC maps. So far with DLC not being required, DLC maps never get played and as far as I’m concerned there is currently no point to own any DLC. I am done buying DLC until it becomes a required item once again. My view is if you don’t want to buy the DLC don’t play online match making.

The reason Halo 3 was able to make most of the playlists DLC required is because of the Mythic disc that shipped with ODST. Had that disc not existed, I’m pretty sure Halo 3’s DLC would be in the same position has Halo 4’s.

But isn’t Halo 4’s goty disc technically the same thing?

Either way, with MCC coming soon Halo 4 will have all of it’s glorious DLC maps available toa ll players, no more dlc debacle anymore. Just joyus maps that used to be DLC that are now part of normal playlist rotation.

What’s that? Vertigo all the time? Pit showing up every other voting lobby? Yes please!

MC Collection is gunna be wonderful and I think will put us all in shock seeing dlc maps appear all the time lol

Far from it. Halo 3: ODST was a brand new game which came with the Halo 3: Mythic disc.

Halo 3: ODST sold over SIX MILLION units. That’s SIX MILLION players who automatically had all 24 of Halo 3’s maps.

The Halo 4: Game of the Year edition likely didn’t even come close to that. The game still had a low population after it released and Team Slayer almost died when it was made DLC required for a short time.

DLC requirements simply wouldn’t work in Halo 4. Not enough people play and those who do simply don’t own the DLC. Here’s a picture of the bottom 3 Halo 4 playlists, during peak time from a few days ago.

Team DLC is the 2nd lowest playlist. - This is the case with every DLC playlist that gets introduced.

> The reason Halo 3 was able to make most of the playlists DLC required is because of the Mythic disc that shipped with ODST. Had that disc not existed, I’m pretty sure Halo 3’s DLC would be in the same position has Halo 4’s.

Completely untrue. I played on DLC maps all the time, even in the main playlists, before ODST released. The reason for this was that DLC was required for many of these playlists. And unlike Halo 4, the reason this worked well in Halo 3 was that people actually liked the game enough to buy its DLC.

So, the solution to Halo 4’s DLC woes isn’t to make the maps free, nor is it to make the playlists DLC required. It’s to make the game enjoyable enough that people will want to buy its DLC. And because that’s impossible, Halo 4 on the Xbox 360 will always suffer from a lack of DLC in matchmaking.

> The reason Halo 3 was able to make most of the playlists DLC required is because of the Mythic disc that shipped with ODST. Had that disc not existed, I’m pretty sure Halo 3’s DLC would be in the same position has Halo 4’s.

Halo 3 came out Sept. 2007, Halo 3 ODST came out in Sept. 2009, and DLC requirement occurred approximately July 5, 2010. So it took around 3 years for DLC to become required. Halo 4 came out Nov 6, 2012. Currently there is no DLC requirement.

I’m sure there would have been complications without the Mythic Disc however; DLC becoming required should be a natural progression to begin with. Fans of the franchise want to play on new maps and new content that they buy. Making DLC required allows “hard core” fans to play on the content they bought without having to wait for a special playlist to play it. DLC requirements would only hinder the “casual gamer”. Which goes back to one of the main problems, is 343 making a game for “Halo Fans” or “Casual Gamers”. I would say Halo 4 was purely for the “casual gamer”

Until DLC becomes a requirement I would strongly advise anyone not to buy the content due to how hard it is to actually play the content. Let’s not even go into the achievement and players quitting out of matches problems also associated with the DLC.

If I remember correctly you yourself are having problems with obtaining the DLC achievements.

> If I remember correctly you yourself are having problems with obtaining the DLC achievements.

Mmmm nope. I have all the achievements.

> My view is if you don’t want to buy the DLC don’t play online match making.

Absolutely ridicules. People already spent $60 to buy the game, but now they only get to play half of it?

You might as well make Matchmaking itself DLC.

It’s absolutely ridicules that you spend $30.00 on DLC and never get to play it, you might as well not make it and or not buy it.

In halo 3 you also only played the dlc for 2 weeks, then the playlist magicly disapeard…

This.

Spent some cash on DLC and only recently got a DLC playlist. 343 is a freaking joke.

Well to be fair, said playlist only has 226 players in it at the time of this post. If you want a permanent DLC playlist, get everyone to play it.
