Make Melee more skillfull

Can we remove the Melee “lunge”? Ever tried to melee your teamate? Thats how melee should be and not this automated process.

It needs to be more reliable first. I’ve had some instances where there is no lunge, and then other times where it feels like I’m lunging half way across a room.

I have had a lot of problems with melee in Infinite. I have had numerous occasions where I go through the opponent like they are a ghost.

I think it’s related to desync, and connection issues first.

I love the current melee system!

In combat with an enemy, roll a D20…

20 - you transform into master chief from the books, lunge 20 feet, phase through the enemy, and back smack them for an instant kill. You T bag them and they uninstall in shame.

16-19 - you miracle lunge 10 feet and connect your melee attack

10-15 - you connect your melee attack against any enemy at arm’s length or closer

5-9 - you thought you could melee that enemy 2 feet away from you, but your tiny little T Rex arms just won’t reach. You punch air and die.

2-4 - you hear the sound of your melee connecting… The replay even confirms it. But you forgot to plant your feet and your punch had no power. Deal no damage.

1 - you throw the most awkward haymaker of all time, contorting your entire torso and losing your balance. You awkwardly spin around in a half-pirouette just in time to expose your back. Your punch hits nothing but air. Your opponent graciously decides to end your misery and back smacks you in the face for an instant kill. You get T bagged and uninstall.

Lunge should’ve never been in thing in any video game. Might as well have kept the thruster pack if the melee is going to close the gap anyways

The people saying its related to desync, the errosrs might be. But I want the whole lunge removed. Theres no skill involved in pressing a button which activates an automated process.
Fxing the desync would be a step in the right direction in every instance of the game.
