Make Kazuma Jinnouchi the main composer.

Neil did a good job with the soundtrack for trying to fit into the giant shoes that Marty left behind. But I was looking, and I noticed that most of the highlights of the OST are actually composed by Kazuma. For example: 117, Wreckage, Atonement, Lasky’s Theme, and the remix of Never Forget, and more. All of these songs I felt were the closest to that sound Marty discovered and we all grew to love.

Neil has a few that are incredible too. For example, my personal favorite, Arrival. He also composed Green and Blue. But most of the songs he composed I felt were a bit to hard and sometimes stressful.

This is merely my opinion. But I think at least 343 should let Kazuma compose more songs on the next soundtrack.

I noticed this as well. Neil has a very mysterious, mystical sound, that I feel works great for the Forerunners and the mystery that surrounds them. Though I felt that the Jinnouchi tracks, 117 especially, have a much more epic and heroic tone to them, that brings back more of the “Marty Feeling”.

Both are excellent!

They should do more songs both for Halo 5!

Make more Mantis. Holy hell, that’s simply superb. A properly good halo theme. Goes up there with my favourites. Never forget, peril, ashes and a pale horse.

Ashes and the epilogue from reach are the only time Halo has done loss well.
Emotive piece goes to No more dead heroes, close second being green and blue. But playback the end of halo 4 with no more dead heroes and it’s so much sweeter.
Pale horse and Mantis. Mantis is just superb. Memorable, driving, just stunning all around.

I feel that Neil really missed the point of the music. It was incredibly hit and miss, and (not his fault mind) but it was implemented so poorly. It didn’t create the emotion that well. Bungie always used lull moments to let the music shine and let you be immersed, but Halo 4 didn’t do that, and none of the music was up to scratch.

Fact of the matter is that marty isn’t some kind of omnibenevolent warlord (sorry!) and it really would have been better to emulate but SLIGHTLY twist his style. His style was perfect. Dramatic, emotive and so on. And it really made you feel good for liking it. You sit there listening to ashes while some nutter listens to his overly loud rap and it’s just nice. Halo 4 missed that. I liked some of the electronic stuff, but it made ambient sound, not soundtracks.
