Make it possible to attain flames?

First off with this thread I would like to capture the attention of not only the community, but also the developers in charge of our beloved Halo Universe now, 343 Industries.

As you all know Halo 3 is pretty much a dead game. Not many people play it except for those of us still loyal. So what point is there in keeping armors impossible to unlock from the community? When Bungie gave us the ability to give us recon armor I was fully satisfied with that.

I didn’t want the flames to distinguish myself from others. After I earned my vidmasters I was fully accomplished. The only bad part is that now EVERYONE has recon. Apparently during my time of inactivity everyone received recon armor for some reason that is unknown to me.

So what I’m asking? I’m asking that you give the people who’ve completed the vidmasters, and have done any other sort of hulabaloo you think is needed to attain it, the Bungie chestplate. Thank you, and good day sirs, and ma’ams.

Why you no reply?? I thought I a good idea!

I feel the exact same way. I don’t understand why we would receive the blue flame in Halo Reach, but in Halo 3 we still haven’t received the flaming chest plate.

yyour absolutley right and ive been saying this i just want it so after all is said and gone my armory will be complete andd to top it off i will remeber all of my halo ambhitions …

The Blue Flames on Halo: Reach were a going away gift from Bungie, the orange flames on Halo 3 weren’t, they are still exclusive to Bungie employees.

343i have shown no desire to support Halo 3 other than giving everyone Recon, don’t expect anything like this.

Greedy little sh_it, aren’t you?

No, I actually sat through the vidmasters to get my Recon, and then they were given out for free.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea, but I doubt it’ll happen. While I myself have failed to achieve Endure (due to an excessively irritating lag-out when reaching the final wave of brute chieftains and inability to find a stable team), I would definitely go shoot for it again if there was something new to actually show off as a sort of “Hey, look, I did something and got rewarded for it!” It’s why I keep my katana equipped at all times. It shows I played through and did things.

Plus the flames would be the one thing I don’t have unlocked if 343i ever decides to include me on a Recon wave.

I really hope they do this. Especially for those who still believe in Halo 3. Its only fair.

its only for bungie employees and bungie employees only. hence why it is called “Bungie”

To add on to my earlier statement, the only people that deserve the Bungie chest plate are those who got Recon before the Vidmasters were released.

It unlocks the recon helmet for your Xbox avatar. I don’t know if that is something you care about, but it is still something you can only get it by completing the Vidmaster challenges.

Avatars don’t really matter to many people though.

That statement comes across as very elitist =(

The people that got it before the Vid-Masters didn’t have to do Endure and Deja Vu . .

There are 3* things that I can think of that people before the Vid-Masters had to do to get Recon . .

Make a amazing picture, clip, or map.

*(There are of course other things that people did to get Recon from Bungie before the Vid-Masters.)

I think the way that it should be is the reverse of your statement . .

People who did the Vid-Masters should get the Bungie chest piece if 343 decides to make it available, and the people that got Recon without doing the Vid-Masters should have to get the Vid-Masters in order to unlock the Bungie chest piece.

ps I know in order to get Recon people had to go on Bungie.net and click the button on the Road to Recon page.

But 343 can make it available through Halo Waypoint on the 360, it would scan peoples achievements, and unlock the Bungie chest piece if the person has all of the Vid-Masters.

This man proves a good point.

It doesn’t matter how people earned it with Bungie, the fact is they impressed Bungie in some way, shape or form and after Bungie allowed any one to get Recon with the Vidmasters, well, it annoyed my to be honest how the original owners of Recon got nothing like the Bungie Chestplate, they were left with a set of armour that everyone now has and when they try to say, I earned this in a different way than you did, they get laughed at and said, YEAH, SURE YOU DID.

> (There are of course other things that people did to get Recon from Bungie before the Vid-Masters.)

Like you said, there were people like Tyrant who conquered LASO for Halo 3 which Bungie didn’t even think was possible, sure, he did it for a challenge, but the reward he got out of it became pointless now that everyone has it.

Sure, there were some one who got it because they got splattered by a Traffic Cone and got Recon, but they were the first to get it for that and the last to get it for that.

I will say, as long as 343i implement a way that tracks the game for the vidmasters instead of just seeing them as unlocked, they should let the people who earned the Vidmasters unlock the Bungie chestplate, but if they go solely off the Achievements, then they just leave it open for modders to unlock the Bungie chestplate easily.
