While the infection gametype in Reach gives a nice and enjoyable break from standard gametypes, the current state of infection in Reach feels lacking.
Remember all those awesome custom games in Halo 3 on Sandtrap? The infected would start out on opposite ends of the map, with hammers and swords in hand. The human survivors were placed near vehicles- mongooses, warthogs, prowlers…etc. Just the chase with vehicles and super fast zombies running around the huge maps was just pure fun, something I feel the Reach infection gametype is severely lacking. Oh man, I can still remember the hammer sounds of doom approaching behind as the zombies ran behind you to tip your warthog over. So much fun.
Does anyone else want to see huge maps, vehicles, and fast zombies make a return in Halo 4 infection?
Yes. Infection felt incredibly limited in Reach. Then again, custom games in general felt limited. Probably because of the removal of certain gametypes coughVIPcough and the fact that we were pretty much limited to one map: Forge World. You can only stand the sight of gray everywhere for so long before it starts to bug you.

“sterile and it blows”
agree 100%. I don’t even know how it’s the most popular gametype right now. ;/

A combination of the Reach Credit System and the fact that the game is too imbalanced in favor of the Humans. People will farm a gametype for easy credits.

Dude I completely agree with all of what you said. Infection in Reach really was lacking, mostly due to being always on that one grey… Forgeworld…But dude I remember Close the Door, Drive or Die, Levels Four, Fat Kid, Jenga Tower and MANY other very fun and replayable Halo 3 infection games. I hope 343 brings back infection to the level at which it once was, AND includes more than one (why did you do this Bungie?) Forge-friendly map.

I’m not sure if you’re referring to custom games Infection or the Living Dead playlist. LD has always been terribad; it was bad in 3 and it is bad in Reach. Honestly, playing so many great custom infection games in 3 and Reach makes me wonder why LD never strayed from the boring default style of infection.
