I cannot wrap my mind around how a game in 2007 can be more socially friendly than a game in 2022 with a higher budget and bigger team?!
343’s Halo infinite is good but not good enough, it has gone way too deep into the competitive aspect of halo and completely removing the balance of fun chill and “qwerky”. I don’t know if they plan to slowly add these features in but I believe for Halo to feel like Halo again it needs to be more socially available than ever before. Party up, Proximity chat, and the chance for players to network and become friends needs to be more the center point of the game. A game you can jump on and socialize with individuals from all around the world. Not much shooter games can hit the nail on the head with this aspect but the first to do this will be the most successful. Halo being the staple for Xbox I believe it should be meaning to do this! I have friends I still talk too that I met from a free for all in halo 3 13 years ago! all from different countries! Today’s generation of halo players will never be able to do that; and it’s actually upsetting. why isn’t being in gamechat pushed? I remember a gamemode on Call of duty which forced you to be in gamechat to communicate with your team. even if you didnt have a mic you could hear, features like this would make specific playlists especially ranked 10x more better as halo is a VERY team based game, especially Infinite. At times yes it can be toxic but like everywhere in life, theres good and bad people, as an individual you just have to be prepared for it and know what you’re getting yourself into, the mute option is always available. I really believe features to just talk in pregame lobbies or as the game is ending and loading up will overall change the foundation of the game. small features go a long way.
