Halo Infinite is consistently on top 15 on Xbox, Halo MCC is hardly able to keep up on top 50.
Yeah but Halo MCC isnât even close to Halo Infinite on Xbox. It doesnât matter if Halo Infinite is top 10 or not.
Edit: Hell, I just checked it. Halo Infinite is currently 11th on Xbox, Halo MCC is 48th. Yâall are lying to yourselves if you guys think Halo MCC is as alive as Infinite, itâs pretty clear from search times aswell.
Itâs not as âaliveâ but all free games due is open the flood gates for cheaters and griefers. They have no skin in the game so they donât ultimately care about the game. If some one isnât willing to spend what little MCC cost, considering the amount of content they get, especially when comparing it to other games, it is probably better they play something else. In a way I would rather have a smaller community of dedicated players rather than a large community of who knows what kind of players.
As i mentioned, Halo Infinite is still more active at the time
Back in April Infinite was in the top 30 so the ranking can and will definitively change
Also the search time in MCC is not something accurate, most people remaining are now playing games in the custom browser/private firefight matches instead as the composer is filled with try-hard and clans that ruin everyone experience
Note: Considering how long the game was out and with the currently available modding tools/assets the community have access the MCC player count will most likely remain constant for few years
And yet Infinites playerbase has been dropping like flies where as MCCs has only dripped players, even though MCC has mostly gained players after infiniteâs launch.
Perfect way to put it, I 100% agree!
Honestly if anything, MCCâs dieing from 343 trying to push infinite, which is harming the only title they have thats any sort of worthwhile.
Like, they could stealth drop those last two H:O maps for Halo 3 alongside Reach Mod Tools and immediately bring players back.
I mean if 343 adds the ability to disable boundaries in Forge for all games that have Forge, I mean thatâs gonna bring back a LOT of players. Forge World will have every little secret uncovered, Halo 3 maps will double or even triple in size, Halo 4 maps will even get some good elbow room as well.
I think if 343 adds anything major in upcoming MCC updates, it should be complete barrier removal in Forge. Letâs face it Infiniteâs Forge is gonna flop just like the rest of the game, Infinite canât maintain a playerbase larger than a few thousand, where as MCC can get at least up to 10k every now and then, sometimes more sometimes less, but MCC is the most consistent Halo title.
If 343 is smart, after Forge drops in Infinite theyâll do some bug fixes then axe the life support and move on.
So what? The drop has stabilized. Infinite is consistently on top 15 after season 2, it will also keep increasing after season 3 and beyond where the content updates will really get better. MCC being more consistent is normal because itâs a collection of old, legacy games with hardcore fanbases. Infinite is a live service, it being turbulent is to be expected.

Lmao, the amount of coping required to make that up. I wished MCC was as alive as Infinite.
I hate how an attempt at discussion towards trying to find a way to revive a dead-ish game turns into people saying it isnât dead and a new entry which is thriving is dead. Not being able to find a game on any other playlist besides Arena and Big team battle with long search times on MCC makes me sad, I want to discuss something around that. Not people lying to themselves on how MCC is alive to try to throw shade to Infinite like how it happens all the time.

And you say Iâm the one coping. Dude people are gonna nope the f out of Infinite a lot faster unless 343 fixes ALL of the technical issues plaguing the game. Infinite is by definition a âBad gameâ due to these technical issues.
Even then the only reason Infinite is even that far up is because itâs free to play, because letâs be honest if it had MCCâs price tag, MCC would be in 15th and Infinite wouldnât even be in the top 15. Like I said itâs not a good game, this community has been starved and teased for new content for 6 years, so naturally any new game theyâd jump at.
Iâve seen you vehemently defending Infinite on other posts too, but the reality is that most of the community dislikes Infinite immensely, and odds are most of the player numbers that currently make up Infinite, are most likely new players whoâve never actually played Halo before.
Lol sure man whatever
The reason Infinite is higher on the list is because itâs new, not necessarily because itâs free. There have been A LOT of old games all remastered and/or available on Xbox one and none of them have high populations. The video game world is very much what is new⌠The only way MCC will see a boost in population is if they really bring A LOT of new content which they just arenât going to do. MCC is superior in very way compared to Infinite but people always say âI have played them alreadyâ.
Fair point. I still believe it would have a small population boost if it did go FTP though.
i dont agree that its dead , support would have been droped if it would. personally as a european halo was always somewhat dead in the region ( most players in usa or britian , a few in germany etc and my country russia basicly almost none except a few dedicated fans , though with the mcc pc version there are a few more ) so i mostly have to play on us servers anyway ( luckiliy halo isnt a game where having 70-100 ping dosent matter that much ) yet i have mostly nobissiues finding games fast easpacially halo 3 , problems exists sometimes in ranked playlists like the halo 4 one ( again halo 3 slayer , doubles and h3 hardcore mostly no problem ) and like weired or unpopular match compositions. but the unpopular compositions dont really take longer to find matches then it was back in reach days 1 year in in unpopular lists lol. so i disagree that its dead , not to mention that the playercounts for mcc and infinite arent that far appart if the steam number are something to go by ( it dosent account for ms store and xbox , they dont show exact numbers , but steam is a great indicator ) . what they should add is a ârough matching timeâ so one does know how long he moght have to wait. mcc going free to play is one one hand jeah nice more players even though most will be casuals who will leave the game soon and an influx of cheaters , but the implications of free to play for me is either monetization or dropped support. i want mcc to continue recive support while remaining un monetized , but if there is no way around to keep support up then to monetize it then jeah do it , i might even drop some money on it as opposed to infinite i acctually enjoy playing mcc.
but steam is a great indicator
It isnât though, Halo community is largely on Xbox rather than PC. Both Infinite and MCC are more alive than what the steam numbers suggest. The issue comes from the playlists in MCC, arena is easily found, yes. But try finding an Infection game, or wait half an hour for a competitive game.
It is though, especially since MCC has been out for a decade, and the PC port was what reignited player interest in the title. while it still has an xbox playerbase, its likely the PC playerbase is whats keeping it alive.
No, itâs the opposite. MCC manages top 50 on xbox, it has a low playerbase on steam charts though.
Thatâs a terrible idea imo, we would be flooded with smurf accounts (and possibly players being DDOSâd every time).
