Honestly, the only thing that will get me to buy Halo 6 is the removal of sprinting. I would like to see more of the “enhanced” mobility mechanics be taken out of the franchise. But, sprinting is where I’m drawing the line with my continued support of the franchise. That one mechanic harms so many areas of the game including weapon range, weapon damage, map design, aim assist, etc.
If Halo 6 has sprinting, I will probably end up renting it from Redbox to see what they do with the story. But, I will not own a copy. I’ve been a day one, wait-in-line-at-midnight purchaser of every Halo sequel up until Halo 5 broke that streak because of the continued use of these gameplay mechanics that break the Halo feel. I ended up buying Halo 5 when I found a used copy and could only stomach about 8 multiplayer matches before I shelved the game for good. If Halo 6 continues with this path they’ve been taking the gameplay down, I won’t even bother wasting my money.
To me, the most effective way to build off of Halo 5 is to take things away from it.
But doesn’t Halo have to “evolve”? That means Halo 6 shoukd not play like Halo 5 just like Halo 5 didn’t play like Halo 4.
That’s an interesting point, I really like halo 5’s gameplay personally and this video is talking about how to improve the flaws I see in halo 5, but I guess we will have to wait and see, who knows maybe halo 6 will be a no sprint halo.
