Honestly, I loved Halo: Reach’s armor and I think Reach had the best customization and armor in any Halo game. I can guarantee you that I’m not the only one that believes this.
Halo: Reach had so many unique sets with so much detail to make your spartan look very unique. Spartans looked very tactical with helmet attachments, tactical touch pads and ammo on chest plates. Considering there is now all this tactical stuff like Smart Scope, Thrusters in Halo 5, they should seriously consider adding customizable things like helmet attachments, touch pads etc… Halo: Reach’s armor was very military like too. The armor had scratches and made you look like a total bad -Yoink-. I liked it how you could make one arm this huge plate and the other arm normal size. Plus all the scratches, attachments etc… Makes you look sick!
I know this is a beta, but the fact that you can’t change your arms, legs is very disappointing and I seriously hope they don’t keep it like this when the final game releases. All I want to say is: Look at the concept art for armor in Halo: Reach and look at the armor itself in Halo: Reach, 343i. Look at every detail of each piece of armor and awesome combinations people made with different pieces of armor. Once again I know this a beta so I can’t complain too much, but make Halo 5’s customization and armor better than Reach’s. I understand gameplay comes before aesthetics, I’m a beliver in that, but take notes 343i. Please.

I know they Spartan IV’s and some of reaches things may be in it, but why not make some more? Touch pads would be sick. I was thinking a cool thing would be like ammo for the Hydra as a belt. Of course it’s just for aesthetics only.
Reach had the best customisation, so i wouldn’t mind seeing many accessories, from that game, make a return. However, it is too late to change the appearance of the armour, now. 343i want to go with the art direction that they established with Halo 4.

Yeah that’s a good point. But bare in mind it is still 1 year from release. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt if they added a few attachments to armour pieces etc. Like the Halo 4 DLC included new armour. They could make more armour and just add it in before release.
It’s not that I disagree, but I feel like this isn’t going to change. They already have the art style of the game set in stone, and we already have some of the same mediocre sets that Halo 4 had.
> am i really the only person that doesn’t like the gritty look?
It doesn’t necessarily have to be gritty, I just like the shape of the armor itself. A more polished and bright version of my current Reach spartan would still be nice.

I loved the gruff art style with the armor. Now its just bright un natural colors.
I really liked Reach’s armor, and that’s what I believe you’re talking about too, not just the customization. Because when it comes down to it, Halo 4 had a better one. Now just hear me out, I’m not saying I like Halo 4’s armor more, it just lets fully customize your Spartan. In Reach, you just put on pieces on top of permanent armor pieces, but in Halo 4, everything changed. Chest, arms, shoulders, etc., you could never do that in Reach, that’s why I think 4 had the better customization.

I would disagree. I’d say it was more or less a sidegrade.
While Halo 4 lets you customize individual pieces, it also lacks the accessories and (as gimmicky as it is) special effects that Reach had.
Agreed. Reach was the only Halo that I really enjoyed unlocking new things and equipping them. Halo 4 armor was TOO flashy and didn’t allow the same amount of customization. I would love to see Reach customization back. Armor effects and all! HOORAY!!!

Totally agree. That is something I was really bummed out about when I hopped onto the Wargames for the first time. I hope that put attachments on the armor in 5, would make the armor so much better.
I agree 100% with op. I dont like the motorcycle gear and the visor-less helmets. Bring back big plates of steel and sick knives and helmets with sweet visors.
