Make Halo 3 backwards compatible?

I’d like this, but I’d rather see resources better allocated so that the series moves forward. However, fans really do want some kind of celebration for Halo 3’s ten year anniversary, and why not give the fans Halo 3 itself - in its entirety - in a full game that’s already finished and wouldn’t take nearly as much effort to do? I know we have Halo 3 on the MCC, but that’s been long abandoned, and the full multiplayer experience isn’t on the MCC. The fact that Reach was slapped onto Xbox One shows us that it isn’t that difficult to do.

If this were to be done, I think we should be able to install our Halo 3 ODST Mythic Multiplayer disks, too. For many people, that was our way of accessing the DLC content.

I think this would be a win/win situation for the fans who want the game and the developers who don’t want to spend the resources to remake the game. But I’m interested in the thoughts of others.

I want this to happen, and I think it is. During Xbox’s E3 conference they were showing backwards compatibility 360 games and Halo 3 was there.

I thought it… already was

Yep, CEA - 4 are becoming backwards compatible. Just snoop around the forums, Xbox Feed, and Halo’s Instagram, you’ll see that it is confirmed to be coming!

woo

I think it’s been confirmed that all the map packs will be available for free for the games, which is awesome.

There’s enough of these threads floating around that we don’t need more
