The title is pretty self-explanatory. Next Friday, 343 should make doubles ranked to allow for a more competitive experience, especially given its potential as a ranked playlist.

That is true. But given how long 343 received the maps for the doubles playlist, they probably should’ve released it a lot sooner. I am still happy however.

But isn’t it just a temporary social playlist? Or is it here to stay?
It’s really annoying, we ask for ranked doubles for months on end, and now we get unranked social, where people quit out and others join in their place. That’s not what I had in mind at all.

There is no indication of this being a temporary social playlist, otherwise why would 343 even bother playtesting the maps from the Forgehub contest?
I played one match on some garbo forge map will not bother to play another. just another fail as expected.

We worked with the folks at ForgeHub on selecting the top maps from their recent 2v2 map contest, and then worked with internal teams on getting them ready for their first stint in matchmaking."

In that case, we’ll just have to wait next week for 343’s update on whether they’ll make the playlist ranked, but I still do not believe that it will simply be a temporary playlist.
yeah I hope it goes ranked and permanent,soon, been having a blast on it. It’s a whole different experience, and something that was sorely lacking from the usual line up. Now virtually every base is covered except for king of the hill which was always great fun - any word on if that’s coming back?
