343I please make the DLC Maps required for most of the playlists like Bungie did in Halo 3. I want to play on the maps that I paid for more often. I know some people are going to say they should be for free, but I want to say that you can get them for free by using Bing Rewards or XBL Rewards to get free Microsoft points. I also want to say that I want to play on the DLC Heavies maps, but they don’t pop up enough because the DLC isn’t required.
some people dont want to buy the dlc becuase they are just casual players. but they should add dlc only matches maybe?
The biggest problem with BTB Heavies is you cannot play the DLC ones. I like all of the heavies maps, but I like the DLC maps much better. I want to play the DLC in big team. It pops up the least out of every other playlist and should require DLC for BTB. It was required in Halo 3 so people could have fun and enjoy every map on reach why can’t it be implemented now. I just feel like most of the DLC i bought has been jipped from me because the best maps are in the DLC yet you play it the least. I remember when Noble Map Pack came out and had just those three maps. It was 6v6 action and was basically BTB on every map in the map pack. Same with defiant. I just liked that so much better. Just get rid of Aniversary BTB and just combine it with regular BTB and require at least one DLC for BTB thats all that matters. Just one DLC for BTB, either that or all DLC. I hope this is implemented in the April Update.
I don’t think there should be required DLC at ALL! Maybe if they made it like ODST where you could play 3 on a separate disc that had all the maps. I really don’t want to download maps [considering they are 100 or more meg maps] that will take hours to download and plenty others will agree. But the post about making another playlist is a good idea so I can play BTB on the regulars while you play the DLC BTB.

in all seriousness though, i really do wish the DLC maps would pop up more often. that joke i just said though is, but isn’t. i rarely see any DLC maps at all. it’s like i feel like i wasted money buying the maps 
DLC should be required on some playlists but Team Slayer and Rumble Pit should remain open to everybody.
What’s wrong with the DLC playlist? If you play big team then you will encounter more players how don’t have the DLC. In team team/super slayer the DLC maps pop up all the time, tbh the Noble/Defiant maps are awful anyway.

Also, it uses the same game types on all the maps, so you get crap like AR loadouts on breakpoint.

I nominate the notion that they add all DLC maps to all play lists and game types where applicable, then if the level is voted on and has the highest number of votes those that do not have DLC are booted from the game. That should piss off everyone but still give paying DLC players a chance to actually feel like their money was well spent.

I agree with your apparent dissatisfaction with Squad DLC and have suggested in another thread that it be replaced with BTB DLC, which would have all the BTB maps that require DLC and which have vehicles on them. This would make it a more focused playlist, rather than being one in which neither small team players nor big team players feel fulfilled. I think it would do better population-wise as well, because of the popularity of BTB Heavies.
I think I have a good idea, make it so if a dlc map comes into the voting boot them out.
It will get annoying for them and they will buy it…

I don’t even own all the DLC because I know I won’t play them. I don’t like squad slayer all that much, I like 4v4 competitive style gameplay. MLG, Arena, ect. If I could play the maps with these settings I would probably go out and buy them right now, but I know I’m not about to buy the maps just to play in one playlist that I know I wont enjoy.

Then theirs an obvious solution have squad DLC increase to 8v8 the playlist is empty anyway. Also I have all three map packs but deleted noble and defiant just don’t like’em another reason why they don’t pop-up more often.

Booting players for not have the maps won’t work playing 8v8 big team then 4 of your guys get booted 8v4 no fun for you or them.
MS has a code that all base achievements must be unlock able without DLC. However, I am not sure if the achievements are the ones originally with the game or the ones added with the Noble or Defiant map packs.

I’m actually kinda torn between the idea of making DLC required, and making Noble + Defiant free (yeah, yeah, I know. We paid for them. But think about it. You might actually get to PLAY on them for once!).
