Make Desync #1 priority NOW!

I’ve said it dozens of times.

They don’t know how to fix it. If they did, it would have been done already.

It’s something that will have to be lived with until they finally give up and pass it to a competent developer.

That’s virtually every game. There’s always going to be a meta, because game developers only know one word “NERF” they don’t ever wonder why something is “overpowered” because the simple fact is nothing is better than it. Now in some cases a Nerf is absolutely necessary, but I’ve seen guns get Nerfed when a nerf was completely unnecessary simply buff other things. In halo I can think of several buffs that wouldn’t hinder the game.
Pulse carbine: make the campaign upgrade version the default gun as it’s far better, and isn’t over powered.
Plasma pistol; bring back its EMP and increase its tracking by just a little bit more…
bulldog: increase its consistency to 2 tap(idk if it’s Desync but it’s so hard to get a two tap with that gun even up close, yet I seen the pros on Lan 2 tap where I know I would’ve had to 3)
Disruptor: make the disruptor disable equipment or disable a players ability to sprint for 1 second. This would be extremely useful and fits the realm of players wanting more Niche perks.
Commando: reduce its shots to kill back to the flights, 7 shots.
BR(bet you think I wasn’t gonna get to this huh) remove vertical recoil and remove its spread(it has spread past RRR) this way skill prevails.
Stalker(let it fire 3 more shots before requiring an overheat)
Shock rifle(I think it’s just fine but I’d like a little less aim assist when no scoping)
Sentinel beam is just fine atm

Millions obviously doesn’t mean crap when it probably takes them a million bucks to fix a bug like aligning. This game has more Desync than any game I play, in h5 I would occasionally get a shot or melee that didn’t register but that would happen like once or twice, nah in infinite it happens often. When you play ranked like me map control is EVERYTHING. If you die because a melee or even if ONE shot didn’t register it kills your entire vibe. I’ve lost so many ranked matches because a shot or melee didn’t register so I ended up dying or trading(when two people kill each other at the same time) and it’s bs.

Hard to say. BLAM was very special to Halo for the specific reason of keeping its physics engine, which was all Halo was about. Halo was and always should be a physics based game. The irony is that Slipspace built on BLAM but retained almost none of its physics capabilities besides the bare minimum.

Well halo infinite won’t solve the isssue of “issue with the infinite servers” when trying to play solo/duo playlist with a friend, were forced to play 4 player premades in the open queue. they said there is no solution. wow.

Unfortantly, this is how businesses work. Managing resources and what not is apart of being a business. Most companies want to profit above all else as well. Then again, this is 2022, and there are plenty of companies out there now-a-days that seemingly don’t like money I will admit lol. More so in the entertainment business.

They may have millions of dollars that they currently own, but do you really believe their bosses want them to keep blowing millions of dollars on top of the millions they’ve already used up just to get us here this far? Realistically speaking that is.

I’m pretty positive with how big this game is meant to be, they don’t have the staff needed in regards of the scale of this project as is.

See alot of comments from people on reddit that state they don’t understand why people complain about desync as they’ve rarely experienced it.

I play on a series S and my friend a 3060pc…we are in austtalia and the desync is every game without fail…sometimes in our advantage, but for the most part its against us.

Most comments about not experiencing desync seem to be from series X players, is this a correlation to hardware or just coincidence?

We find that desync is significantly worse for us on low ping games 20ms, with our best games around 100ms, and reverting back to hurrendous at 160ms above.

At 20ms game feels really smooth, but desync is attrocious.

Anything above 100ms and it feels stuttery and rough.

I dunno much about networking, but me and my friend live less than 10kms (7 miles) from each other, both on fibre yet ping can vary 40ms between us.

They need to prioritise connection over MMR

WTH do you mean by “physics” lmao

If they’re not willing to spend the money and manpower needed to make the game good, then they should just stop. They’re lazy and incompetent.

Why fix desync when people are buying things from the store anyway?
Desync aint that bad, right?

It honestly shows. These developers are incompetent because they can’t fix anything in a timely manner… it takes them months to fix anything.

If I’m being completely honest here my sources tell me that Xbox One is a big cause for desync. The amount of data Halo Infinite is transferring to the servers is just overwhelming. Without completely cutting out Xbox One I’m not sure we’ll get a full fix to the issue. Improvements? Maybe, but not a full fix.

Huh this isn’t entirely true . Yes the vast majority of the team is working on co-op networking but there are improvements being made to desync through that work. You don’t necessarily have to be directly working on an issue to improve it.

How is working on coop campaign going to fix Desync on multiplayer? That’s a load of crap and no evidence except 343s word of mouth which has no credibility

Well co-op will be multiplayer. It deals with the same backend work. Runs off the same servers and will connect users the exact same. I never said it’s going to fix desync. But it will probably bring little improvements as they rebuild and rework the system.

Your logic still makes absolutely no sense. Why are you under the assumption that they’re “rebuilding and reworking” the system? All they’re doing is adapting the current network to campaign co-op. It’s certainly nothing complex, relatively speaking.

Let’s say they are rebuilding the network, as you claim, how would metwork code dedicated to campaign ever affect the network code dealing with competitive multiplayer?

Exactly. All they’re doing is making the network work with the story, no evidence of network improvements.

Because it’s what friends of mine at 343 have mentioned to me. The issue has to do with the large amount of data that Infinite requires/transfers to the servers. When I say “rebuilding” I am referring to improvements in data communication.

Co-op campaign is tied into the same functions multiplayer uses. While it may not directly help desync in multiplayer it is allowing them to make improvements to data transfer.

Also be prepared for co-op to be buggy. Because it’s going to be.

Oh really? So if it’s reworking the system, have they built something that uses less or something?

I have been saying since the first 2-3 weeks that the issue with desync is the multiple platforms running this game at variable frames per second in hardware that can’t handle it. I had the unpleasant experience of playing one a One S, Series X at 60, Series X at 120 and now a high end gaming rig. Desync has drastically reduced as I have progressed up in frames.

Yet, if I am playing a lower system and they get first shot server priority it throws a wrench in things.

I will never forget playing a custom with 7 other guys on PC/series X while I was on my one S. I meleed a buddy and it ghosted/no damage. He meleed me back and one hit killed me. I said something in chat and two of my buddies verified that I meleed 6 feet away and the one was able to two shot melee me. None of that registered on my screen. Original Xbox and the One S need to go, and possibly even the One X. Especially as new consoles are starting to become more available.

I’m not sure. Obviously they can’t really talk about that kind of stuff. I just know what the cause is and that they are working on it and have a plan. The exact details however I’m not a 100% sure.

My PC gets a consistent 240 fps and I have massive desync every game. Frames per second are not the cause. Going up in frames does not help or improve the experience. Xbox One is a major cause of desync. Though it’s not it’s low frames but its slow data transfer capabilities vs PC/X|S.

Also the grapple hook cause desync as well as well as Infinites fast paced movement. This part however will eventually be improved.
