Hey I’d like to see Chief being sassy nowdays.
Like when that Commander calls Chief an ageing Spartan in here;
What if he said;
"“With all due respect sir, I have saved the galaxy from annihilation. I stopped the Covenant and repelled the Flood on the first Halo and then blew it up. I defended Earth when it needed me too. I stopped the Covenant again from activating another Halo ring and kept the Flood in check. I finished the Covenant and destroyed the Flood. You are a useless -Yoink- that probably got where you are at by being a kiss -Yoink- to your superiors, sir. I am also the Master Chief bittch, sir”
That would be very out of character.
Protocol Dictates Action!
Blows up Thread
Seriously though, this is so unnecessary.
Wait, it’s just wrong.
From the first gameplay we seen of campaign, I think the chief talks too much now. Before he only spoke when he had something useful and bad -Yoink- to say. Now he talks almost as much as a regular video game protagonist. I don’t want chiefs character to change anymore then it already has.
Chief, sassy? Hell while we’re at it, why don’t we add some pink details to his armor, make him wear a mini-skirt, and give him a purse with a chihuahua in it.
No. Just…no. That would be completely out of character.

Well uhm, skip to 0:50…
Link.

I saw this video ages ago! Thanks for posting it here man. I remember laughing so hard I hurt the next day!
Old spartan + crazy AI. Yup seem like a good description of Halo 4.
Sassy, no.
But I’m glad he’s actually speaking now. Whine all you want, I hated having him as a “Silent Protagonist.”
It doesn’t “ruin his character.” He had barely any character to begin with, he was incredibly generic outside of the books. He’s also an actual part of the story now, opposed to a generic killing machine who’s just kind of there and doing his duty.
They’re making him unique now, and taking steps to build an actual interesting character for a change.
I like the chief the way he is now. He stays quiet and kills anything that gets in his way. That’s what makes him so cool. He doesn’t have to speak he just kills. Plus no one likes a loud mouth.
Chief should have just headbutted him.
(Also, this scene is being treated as a leak, so prepare for a lock)
