If Blue team appears on Halo Infinite, they need to be more organic and “warmth” with each other, especially John.
Something I felt weird about Halo 5, is the fact that the whole blue team, technically Chief’s family, call him “Chief” instead of John. Everyone else get called by his name, “Get up Linda” , “We lost kelly”, “Get that turret Fred”. I understand if marines call him chief or The Arbiter call him Spartan. But his all time friends/family and brother, sister and Linda as his girlfriend in arms,should call him with a more intimate noun… you know, such as his Real name.

It’s due to his rank. Since children he was their commanding officer they always called him Chief. I mean Fred outranks him now but he still gives lead to him. 343 is just staying true to cannon
I’d say it’s also been used so often that it’s like a nickname for him now, one that carries a lot of love in itself. Also, I’m pretty sure John x Linda would be -Yoink!- in their eyes.

Where did you get the Linda/Chief relationship thing from? Pretty sure the only mention of a definitive love interest for Chief (outside of Cortana) was a school boy crush referenced in “Palace Hotel”. But even that story is of dubious canonicity.
I like that, but I also want to see more depth for Blue Team in Infinite because the books call Linda “an artist” with a sniper rifle, and she always had one in Guardians, but I want to see her and the others all fully utilizing their talents for the team, rather than always rushing in guns blazing! (Holy run-on sentence, Batman!)
John or Chief is fine with me honestly. I mean all of Blue Team have been trained to respect rank. So when John attained the rank Master Chief Petty Officer when he was 15, I believe out of respect they started calling him Chief. But if they were to go back to calling him John, I’m sure it would be fine.

I’m sure it would be more than fine. Cortana mostly called him by his name in H5 instead of rank (or maybe I’m making up lines, but I don’t think I’m wrong). Blue Team being closer to him would mean no problem, just brotherhood.

M8, w00t? John doesn’t have any love interest at all. At best, he considers her a close friend, as with Kelly and Fred.
H5 didn’t really showcase their relationship or anything about them for that matter.
I think they should continue to refer to him as Chief while on the field and John in tense or casual situations.

Yeah, that I can agree on, but If I remember correctly, sometimes they said to each other Spartan “you are good to go Spartan”, or sometimes a more formal “Frederic” I’m not saying they stop calling him Chief. But Hearing John more regularly from Blue team’s mouths would be nice
