I think a bunch of challenges should be able to be completed Vs humans or bots. A lot of games with bot gametypes don’t allow progress Vs bots, but I don’t see why not. If there is a challenge to get a positive k/d 5 times for example, people should be able to do it against bots. Or capture X amount of flags. I think it’s something missing from modern games.
Some games punish you where the exp gained for playing against bots is so small, you can’t make any sort of real progress. The 343 sword kills challenge comes to mind from MCC. It was significantly quicker to just do Vs human opponents as every PvP kill counted for 10 instead of 1.
Let the players progress so they can spend time fighting bots and enjoying the game if they aren’t as confident in normal multiplayer games, but their progression isn’t stifled. Then you can have some other challenges specifically for PVP or BTB.
