Action Sack is a very well rounded social objective-based category that adds so much to do in the Action Sack playlist. I don’t want to have to browse custom games to have fun when I could do it in Action Sack and get REQ points and XP at the same time.
Action Sack will only return as a permanent playlist if the population proves it is strong enough to justify it. I believe it was one of the lowest performing playlists consistently so it was moved to rotational. If you want it back, need to get the numbers in it first
It was permanent and could barely maintain a population.

What kind of numbers would we be looking at to make it permanenet?
Is there a way you can trial it as a permanent playlist again & see how the numbers go? if they are good keep it, if not make it rotational again.

With the game as old as it is, whats the problem with letting people play whatever they want?
Action sack was probably one of the fastest playlists i could find a game in, especially if you compare it to WZA.
action sack really needs some new modes if its population is to increase

I think if skee ball & prop hunt were replaced with some new gametypes it would thrive
Skeeball, prop hunt and battle golf showed up way too often. Minotaurs too. I’ve found that game types in action sack are unevenly distributed…and it’s the ones people hate the most. Get rid of bad mini game types in action sack and you’d probably have a higher population. Chicken or the egg. I have the same issue with warzone - it’s the same maps showing up more than others.

Yeah. Anything that doesn’t involve actual Halo mechanics should go. They were nice and gimmicky for one or two games, but in the end they were just nuisances.

It almost seems too easy to boost population in this mode. Not sure whats holding them back from taking out certain game types & adding fresh ones that the community will enjoy.

Yeah I think these game modes are cool, & props to whoever made them. But they should belong in custom games browser instead.
These rotational playlists are one of the worst things in H5. So what if this gamemode in particular has a “low” population? So what if it just makes 2 or 4% of the whole population? What’s the point of cutting this 2-4% off and “force” them to play other gamemodes? I’ll never get this inconsistency in H5’s matchmaking. And I’m not even a fan of action sack, but let them have it. What’s the problem? Same goes for grifball. I never had issues in the playlist to find some players, so none of them are dead playlists (I live in europe and it never took me more than a minute to hop into another round)
Before people come with arguments like “mehh, you can grab some players and host a lobby” - maybe I don’t wanna do that all the time? Maybe I just wanna boot the disc, hop in a game, play 2-3 rounds and turn my Xbox off again. Not every single H5 player is on Forums, a lot of people don’t even know, when their favourite mode is here, and when it will be gone again.
I’ve just checked the matchmaking feedback updates. Action Sack wasn’t doing that bad, tbh. What surprises me even more is the fact, that Warzone Assault is one of the lowest populated gamemodes in every single update. But it’s never gone. Well, the reason is obvious.

Everything you said makes so much sense. Let people play whatever they want? having restrictions on what you can & can’t play seems just silly.

I’ve played Warzone Assault maybe three times. The most recent was a couple weeks ago. The reason? I always expect it to be like Invasion. But it’s not. It’s so much worse.
As it stands, the defending team has a huge advantage. They always do in asymmetrical gametypes. Which is why it should be a multi-round game, like Invasion.

As a moderator I don’t have access that kind of information.
Each time Acton Sack is in rotation, that is a trial

Do you know if the community as a whole is aware that is it a trial? I remember them mentioning the core playlist would be trialed based on population but that just became a permanent playlist, not rotational.
Maybe if more of the community knew that next time action sack came out that it is considered a “trial run” maybe that may add some extra incentive to play it in order to keep it around longer.
I think Action Sack would fare better if it was made permenent playlist again & given a trial run to see how it withstands the population vs the other playlists.
