Thanks to Sergeant Novak for the Youtube link.
The video above was taken on the new forge island forge map. The basic gist of this is that you place a platform just below the killbox at the top of the map and place a mantis on it. Then just walk off the platform and land on the smallest island.
Once you hit the ground, the mantis’s legs will be broken. You can’t die from fall damage in a Mantis, however, the fall is so far that the legs actually “break” and shorten the Mantis quite a bit.
Also, if you land the Mantis on top of a friend, it will launch them varying distances with no damage taken by the Mantis or your friend.
Be warned however, it may not work at times and getting out of the Mantis will reset the broken legs. Enjoy!
Great…so how do i watch it?
Hitting the crouch button in the Mantis also resets the legs.
For launching, try placing a capture plate or something down where the Mantis lands. If you stand with your foot touching the outer rim it will send you to the edge of the map in that direction. It’s also fun to set up a target and see who can get the closest.
Here I donwloaded it, recorded it, rendered it and uploaded it. I have it on unlisted unless you want it public. Here is the link, it’s rendered in 1080p

You have to download it or get someone with a capture card to render it because we don’t have a rendering system available. I really miss having Bungie Pro right now.

I noticed that after I had posted. Thanks! I still wish we had something like Bungie Pro, though. It would be really nice.

Yeah it would be nice to have back. Also, is there any other way of downloading a map or gametype file that doesn’t require me copying it to my file share or is that the only way?

That’s the only way. Not entirely sure why. It makes no sense to me. It would be a lot easier to just be able to download them.

Thank you for that! I really wish they would allow us to, you know, render the videos ourselves so we could watch them on this site… It’s too much of a hassle to watch funny Halo videos now.
