Hey everyone
There is a very annoying problem with arena which seems to be getting more and more prevalent as time goes on. Has anybody else noticed the sheer volumes of matches where it could go either way, except one team has one person who is just destroying everything? I used to notice this often enough as it was, the number of times everyone in a match would be between 8-12 kills… except for the one dude with 27 kills.
This was annoying enough to begin with but I’ve noticed that in recent months it seems to he practically every match where this happens. I don’t see how this can be anything other than a massive flaw in the match making system, and it’s really really annoying having so many matches that are actually not bad, apart from the fact there’s some freaking Onyx level player stomping on everyone.
I’m getting sick and tired of having great games ruined by this horrendous flaw, and it something isn’t done I think that might be the last straw for me. Constantly matching NA I can deal with, being shot round corners I can almost deal (also starting to happen A LOT), but having 1 person who is very clearly far better than everyone else in every -Yoink!- match is just -Yoinking!- unacceptable.
Please 343 fix this, none of the -Yoink- thus far has ruined my enjoyment of Halo 5 but by god is this managing it
Edit: I’m starting to suspect that this is deliberate, funny how this happens SO MANY TIMES but my w/l ratio keeps evening out? Almost likes its done on purpose to try control the amounts of wins and losses people are getting. I still refuse to believe it’s coincidence that my w/l ratio (and everyone that I know) is at 50% and has been since launch, even after 3,000 games. Then whenever I pull ahead in wins or losses I get multiple matches with some ridiculously good guy on either team completely throwing the match unfairly in their favour.
Oh I get this sometimes I’m that guy and sometimes I’m not but there is also the other guy where 7 players are all close and the one player literally can’t get a kill and goes 1-15 or 1- 20 and it’s the same problem you describe makes it hard when your a solo player like us

Yeah that’s true that also happens a lot. I just can’t shake the feeling they’ve done it on purpose for some sort of crap balance excuse/reason.

Either way it’s not currently working the worst part is losing no matter how you play affects your rank and that sucks hard
Well only those that are greatly skilled at this game have w/l over 50. I have seen 90 plus. Look at some of the 152…
Also if you flip a coin 1000 times you will get 50 for each side or very close to it
i know im the playlist proving grounds i get matched against pretty good people and my teammates usually end up being at a lower skill. I ended up quiting my last match cus my teammates were AFK in the beginning of the match and the enemy team got all the power weapons.
Considering that my Win/Loss used to be above 50 but dropped like a rock (partically because Super Fiesta came out and most people playing it SUCKED)…and it hasnt risen since?
I honestly think you’re right, it is deliberate. I cant get a streak of more than maybe five wins, then I hit a Spartan Company and we get STOMPED.

> If ur team can’t handle one good player then it’s ur fault and not the matchmaking
Ok whatever, except that half the time it’s MY team who gets the insane player who doubles everyone else kills. And it is very clearly the match making at fault lol
“That guy” can be someone who is either +15kd or -15kd. But yes, a lot of games are like that. The superpositive dude is quite often on a smurf account. The negative dude is often a ,lonewolve who gets thrown into a game as a filler for smaller fire teams. That´s my take on it except that we all have those games where we are “that guy” occasionally.
Same issue happens in other games like HOTS, to "keep hero win ratio balanced to justify that the hero isnt over exceeding there design, it shouldnt matter how a character is designed, its how the skill of the player is in a game.
Oh the win ratio for “characters” is 50 / 50 for people who use them, because of that, we dont need to throw any balances out for the game. even though there are tons of players who complain about lack of balance.
I could see the same issue here,. "well your skill just isnt what you think it is, so we dont need to patch match making and we are 343, and we now control halo.and will never admit bungie did everything better.

JC,
I am a very inconsistent player from time to time as well. I have had games where I do 20-5, then the next game I go 12-15 with a frenzy. Then i’ll hit 10-12. This may be what he is talking about. That is the thing about playing upper gold/ lower platinum. They have the skill of diamonds, they are just inconsistent.
I’m starting to see terrible servers again, and I think that factors in. I’ve recently had games where I went 17-1 and feel invincible and other games where no matter what I do I can’t get a kill even though it appears I’m landing shots. I believe sometimes one person gets the “god” connection or something. Smurfs are prevalent but I can’t explain my own huge performance swings so I tend to think it has something to do with servers sometimes.
