Ok, so, as we all know the Multiplayer is now apart of the overall story. You play as Spartan IVs in a virtual training simulator that takes place before you crash land on Requiem. Seems cool, but I thought of a major plot-hole here; If this all takes place before the crash landing on Requiem, then how does the UNSC know about the Promethean weapons?

Wait, seriously? I mean, I figured it would take place before, what with them crashing Infinity on Requiem and apparently sustaining heavy casualties. At least, that’s what the trailers leads me to believe happens. I mean, it’s not like they can just go “Kay Chief, thanks for the help! High-ho Infinity, AWAY!” and fly off into the wild black yonder.

The whole thing is kind of a spoiler. Spec Ops and War Games take place after the campaign. So, SPOILER, the Infinity is gonna be fine.

The Infinity does crash on Requiem, but it later able to make repairs and joins the Chief in the fight against the Prometheans, the Storm Covenant, and the Didact. The Infinity doesn’t leave Requiem during the Halo 4 campaign, as evident from the fact that Spartan Ops takes place 6 months after the campaign, yet is still set on Requiem.
As such, the War Games multiplayer takes place around the same time as Spartan Ops.
