There is a problem in the Halo 3 Forge mode in the MCC that cripples and undermines the entirety of it: We can’t select, let alone place, gametype-specific objects! How was this not noticed?!

Okay. With the H2A and the H4 forge mode, you’re able to pre-select a gametype before starting up a forge game. This is not available in H3 (the only option is basic editing). This restriction does not allow for players to set game-specific items in a session (such as a flag stand, infected/survivor spawn points, hills, etc).

Yeah. It’s a real big a** shame when 343i boasted about porting over Halo 3 untouched… I CAN’T FORGE ANY OF MY CUSTOM MAPS.
…Let’s just say I’m horrendously disappointed at the moment.
Known since week 1. 343 hasn’t acknowledged as far as I know. You can still do basic infection forging since it only requires team-based spawns at a minimum.

go into H2A remake of coag and look how limited it is… 
But wasn’t the entire reason for porting over H3 forge so we can re-create all the classic custom games we used to have? Last time I checked, that was a major selling point for the MCC!
Somewhat similar issue in Halo 4’s forge where you can’t set trait zone properties. I think both if these are oversights that will be corrected eventually.
How did they miss this? did 343 even look at the game before releasing it?
Really makes me wonder… How can these people be entrusted with such a loved game franchise if they can’t even make sure all the modes work before releasing it? I understand the bugs and MM issues, but this has to have been known; it’s an integral (and very noticeable) part of the game!
There never was any gameptype specifics for forge in halo 3. It was always basic editing. It wasn’t put in until Reachs release. Do some research derp.
It’s not like we have any means of sharing our maps anyway.

Shameless Bump. I appreciate 343i’s gifts of ODST for the problems with the MCC, but I don’t want them to forget about these problems with forge! The H2A forge is amazing, but I would want nothing more than to be able to re-create the classics!
