Always place at least one respawn point, not initial spawn, in your maps or you can’t get back in. You always spawn in monitor form when starting forge and it appears that that form can only spawn on respawn points right now. This needs to get fixed fast!

Initial spawns aren’t the problem. It’s how the monitor form spawns. It’s only able to use respawn points, not initial spawns. Load any map, delete all of the respawn points, save as (in case you decide to use your own map), name it whatever, exit and reenter the map you just saved. You’ll see that you’re in some strange spot and unable to do anything but leave the game.

are people that lazy as to not put atleast one spawn point. i know you shouldnt have to but still just leave one spawn point there
This has happened to me on several different maps. I’ve had to restart several times because of it.

Wow. Didn’t know this, just made a couple of blank canvases last night. Maps always had extra spawns hard-coded in, I didn’t think I’d need to worry about that.

I actually saw this on a reddit post and wanted to test it out. After a few tries I was able to realize what was happening.

It’s more of an awareness problem. Some people might want to have nothing set in the map when planning out their maps, and not add respawn points until late into developing the map. Assuming they weren’t aware of this, it means that any point that they die for being accidentally out of bounds, (And that WILL happen) they can no longer respawn, making the map no longer edittable, which translates to having to start over.
I know I would lose it if I knew I could lose forge progress over something like this. I’m surprised this wasn’t a considered factor. Doesn’t strike me as too hard to do, either.

I never knew it becomes inedible after it happens. That sucks
Yeah it needs a patch quick. So if you make a blank canvas, put at least one spawn point in before you save it!
Yes I have had this happen, my first map was almost done…I placed all the initial spawns, decided to call it a night and finish the rest the next day and now my map that I spent a while on is just gone…HOW did they miss this bug?
