So now that we know how season 1 of Spartan Ops has ended we know that all the Locations(aside from the Infinity of course) can’t be revisited. The Majestic map pack features some pretty interesting places. Top of a human skyscraper(Skyline), Human Base?(Landfall), and unique Forerunner location(Monolith). I’m pretty sure their is a war raging on in the background of Landfall. I’m not sure about the other two. Their are also some deafault maps in Halo 4 that don’t take place on Requiem that could be visited in Spops Season 2.
Do you think that the Majestic Map Pack maps would tie in with a Season 2 of Spops if their is one?
I have been thinking along the same lines. Most of the locations cannot be revisited except maybe the maps on Infinity. Even if they did the same thing with rehashing locations over and over ,they would have to make 10 or more new locations which could take a while to make.
Since 343 has stated that they don’t know if another season will be made we can assume that nothing (or next to nothing) has been done yet except maybe the rough storyline.
Even if they hired another team to make season 2 it would take quite a while before we would see the next installment.
Coupled with the fact that Halo 4 isn’t doing as well as everyone had hoped ( let’s be honest there could be a lot more people regularly playing this game), I think the chances of seeing another Spops season in the same form as season 1 aren’t too good.
Of course there is the chance that season 2 will be of lesser quality ( ingame cutscenes instead of CGI , greater time between episodes etc.), but seeing as we would have to pay for it noone would want a follow-up product that was inferior to the season that they got free.
Don’t get me wrong I would love too see more Spops content but if it ever happens it will be quite some time away ,or of lesser quality than the first season.
TLDR : chances of next season are slim and a long time away.
