Mainly UNSC themed objects :/

UNSC objects are clearly the better pallet in terms of variety.

if it includes Pallets (and more than 12 I hope), then fine by me!

> UNSC objects are clearly the better pallet in terms of variety.

Yes but in Versatility it almost falls apart. With the Forerunner themed objects, we can make Forerunner themed maps, human themed maps, and to an extent, covenant themed maps.

but now, with every object having nuts and bolts, metal beams and steam tubes going through them, you can really only create Human themed maps.

At least they’re not all grey…

> At least they’re not all grey…

Pretty much this. I’ll be happy for a change.

I’m confused, we haven’t even seen any UNSC Forge objects except for what is already in Reach. They confirmed a UNSC pallet, but they’ve also showed off a Forerunner one.

I completely understand.

I think that 343i and a lot of other developers that include a map creator, wished they could include more tools and objects. However I think it is purely for space and console reasons. You would have to create duplicates of the same item e.g Human steel bridge - Covenant Chrome/Purple bridge, for every possible environment and faction. It’s not just a case of changing skins either, as you know the architecture and design of Human, Covenant and Forerunner are all completely unique and would require 3x the object count.

Maybe we will see this type of content size in the next gen console.

look back at the forge video, each Forge object placed has a UNSC theme to it. What with the tubes and piping going through them.

Better than using the forerunner grey palette.

> Better than using the forerunner grey palette.

If you are referring to Reach. The supposedly Forerunner design of most of the Forge objects wasn’t even Forerunner imo. It was just, literally, grey blocks. Looking at Haven, now that is what I call Forerunner.

The fact that a good number of Reach’s maps were built with the grey palette doesn’t help either…

I’m looking forward to the new palette just because it’s something different. Hopefully, it will look better longer without seeing it in multiplayer that much.

You don’t say

> Hopefully, it will look better longer without seeing it in multiplayer that much.

Yeah, this was actually something I thought would be cool but actually turned out pretty bad.

Including the community to the level of integrating their maps into matchmaking is great and all but they just did it too many times. A lot of the time I would see a map come up and didn’t even know what it was. Aside from the fact they all looked the same due to the grey pallet.

I would like to see strictly shipped and DLC maps in all playlists aside from an dedicated community map playlists and maybe, maybe action sack or Infection.

I don’t care what the objects look like. I just want snow covered canyon.

Stop hating on every little thing about reach man. Reach’s forge is going to be very hard to top.

Haven is made of grey blocks lol…

No Haven is made of Forerunner textures that are mostly lighter shades of grey and white + Light signals and beams

Halo Reach is grey.

That disgust me. While Haven looks godly.

And me

Granted Haven is a shipped and 343i designed map, and this is Halo 4 with better graphics and lighting, but if we are given the same objects, textures and tools to create maps similar to Haven, then we can truly make some aesthetically beautiful maps.

I miss foundry :frowning:
