Will a new gravemind have memory of what happened on the ark? I never found this out.

I don’t see why not. It remembered things that happened during the Forerunner-Flood War.
I highly doubt the flood are dead. I think the flood dying that easily would be ridiculous.
Jul Mdama is still out there with his Covenant Remnant.
The Didact…well I don’t know if 343’d really kill him off in a comic…seems kinda lame…
ONI is still around with Serin Osman.
The Flood are probably still kicking about.
Plenty of scum still to purge.
A lot of the flood survived the Forerunner-Flood War. Many were in slipspace when the rings were fired, so they weren’t affected. They are still out there. We even know that the Spirit of Fire and Installation 07 has Flood issues. The Flood is far from gone and I doubt they’ll ever be completly killed. I would imagine that they’ll launch a massive invasion in the new saga. It would be a waste to not utilise the opportunity of introducing new flood units and the Precursor artifacts. I’m well aware that the artifacts are vulnerable to the Halos, but some of them were with the Flood in slipspace and should still be out there.

The Ur-Didact is only considered contained, not dead. Jul 'Mdama could very well be killed in the next issues of Escalation. Serin Osman seems too still care for her fellow spartans (I know she never became a spartan herself) including John. ONI are up to some scary things, but I would be suprised if she turned on John, Linda, Kelly, Fred or Naomi, but considering how ONI is the new super evil faction, I wouldn’t bet on it either.

Seriously though the Flood isn’t ‘destroyed’ the outbreak of Installation 05 was simply quelled, or made redundant, due to the current Gravemind dying on Installation 00 and thus making the Flood return to a feral state… yet the Flood Parasite are still known to be located on various worlds;
- [Beta site], [Epsilon site] and [Kappa site] have containment cells, for research and analysis, of Flood biography and physciology… [Gamma site], [Delta site] and [Zeta site] are being overseen by joint-operations of the UNSC-Swords of Sanghelios peace treaty alliance, possible containment cells still exist on these Installations too…
- Greater Magellic Cloud is known to have a large presence of Flood and Precursor technologies, most notably star roads…
- [Conservation Sphere 0459] had Flood upon the exterior surface of the planetary body, however, current status of Shield World 0459 is a misdirect.
- *Human [Pheonix-class] vessel UNSC Spirit of Fire, known to have infection forms roaming interior, as of 2558… current status of vessel is unknown.*NOTE: Possibly more shield worlds have been compromised, as well as, [Forerunner] mining facilities like [research station 04] at Threshold.

The flood helped chief in both h2 and h3, and I don’t think anyone’s calling them the good guys.
The main enemy is going to be the flood, they’re going to hit like a tsunami and drown UNSC and fill ONI’s labs.
