Main Villain

Who do you think the main villain of Halo 5 is going to be? The Didact (again) or a whole new threat?

Flood and/or Didact

The Gravemind

Not sure, but I hope fighting the covenant is somehow the main point of the game again Like alongside the arbiter or something. Personally, I despise fighting flood, they aren’t difficult just annoying. Prometh. wouldn’t be bad either, just hope were almost done fighting the flood. As for the boss I have no clue though.

Some people r saying it’s The Didact again, others are saying it’s a human Insurrectionist. Me? I have no <<yoink>>ing clue! Guess we’re gonna have to wait until E3 to find out.

It would be hard to eclipse the powerful villain that is the Didact in favor of humans - Halo has always been about protecting humanity and fighting aliens, so a human threat would probably be as difficult to succeed with as Halo 2 was with covenant vs heretics. Can’t count how many times I shot my own team! (Mostly an art issue, since the enemies were not drasticly different in appearance).

Same thing here! Next thing you know, one of the Elites will yell out, “You shot me fool!!!”

It kinda looks like Chief and Locke will be at it. Not sure which perspective they’re going to focus on, but it would be cool if they faced off.

A new threat,
because the guys in the other Halo Games were boring.

The Covenant Alien Connection is a funny enemy, but I don’t see 'em as useable main enemy, whoever leads them. The parasite flood guys are a funkiller - exept they (the gamemakers) realy change the way to fight that zoo, … no, not again please.
The didact general was fun, but I don’t understand all the relationships between his ex-wife and so on. He was OK for one game, but again as main enemy - no, thanks.

Also kicking some hostile human soldiers would be fun, sure, not as main enemy. But after all that incompetent “help” by the so-called marines in the Master Chief Collection I am burning on bashing some of them. :stuck_out_tongue: But I guess, we won’t fight humans … even on super hard it would be to easy ;p

This.

The Ur-Didact and Jul 'Mdama can be secondary and tertiary antagonists.

Well, 1) Agent Locke and the Chief are playable characters so it’s highly unlikely that they’re gonna be at each other’s throats and 2) I think that a new threat might be good too.

The Didact with a new form and the return of the flood.

I want the Gravemind. From what i have heard, the forerunner books have made it a truly formidable foe, the fact that he is able to convince the most advanced AI to join the flood by using something called the Logic Plague and the fact it chose not to infect the Ur-Didact, instead make him insane and release him back to the forerunners knowing he would create more chaos for the forerunners, which is why he seems hell bent insane and angry, that and he only had anger to accompany him in his 100,000 years of hibernation.
The gravemind is more than the Floods central mind

Those are all good ideas but, what if Master Chief has a whole new nemesis. One who is clad in armor similar to the Chief’s. Human? Yes. A super-soldier? No. An Insurrectionist? Yes. He could be a man from Chief’s past who’s out to hunt the chief down and lay waste to the UNSC. Whataya think?

I hope it’s the Storm Covenant. The Didact was boring as heck, but the Storm faction’s leader might be interesting.

Sans the whole “from his past” deal, that is pretty much just Agent Locke.

While I certainly dont doubt they’ll play a major role (with Halsey behind them along with Didact’s forces) but I still expect the return of the Flood and/or Didact.

The new media havent left room for much regarding a whole new threat outside of Halo-effect bombs (used by covies anyway) and the berserk strain of Lekgolo.

Unless the Precursors themselves decided to show up and rain death like the mass effect reapers.

The ones that fall into the ancient enemy category.

The UNSC.

343 Guilty Spark.
