So I just replayed Halo 3: ODST (thanks for that free copy on MCC by the way, 343i) and I just can’t get over how every time I play it, I end up enjoying it more than the last time. I just love how different it is in tone, visuals, and storytelling compared to the other main Halo games (Halo 1-5 + Reach). Then I started thinking if they’d ever make another ODST and the Halo gods bestowed this precious gift of a thought upon me: What if there was a “main” Halo game every two years? I’m not saying take a year out of development for each main installment. I’m saying either make a second external studio or expand 343i and divide it into two groups. Each game would take 4 years to develop (this gives an extra year of hopefully more content at launch and a lot more polish) but they would time the releases so that there would be a Halo game coming out every two years. One studio would continue the “main” series following Master Chief’s story, the other studio would work on an ODST series. So for example let’s say Halo 6 comes out in 2018, ODST game - 2020, Halo 7 - 2022, ODST game - 2024, etc. Campaign wise, while the main series would follow Master Chief and his epic, fast paced, large scale space wars, the ODST games would be smaller in scale and more intimate, just all around slower in general. Multiplayer wise the main series would keep moving forward with Halo 5’s fast paced nature and spartan abilities such as the ones that use the thruster packs like thrust, spartan charge, and ground pound. ODST’s multiplayer would be more along the lines of Halo 2 and 3. Basically no abilities that require the thruster pack because ODST’s obviously don’t have those (I think?).
Anyway, I just really like Halo 3: ODST lol What do you guys think? Would you like a fully fleshed out ODST series?
Yea I agree, there should be another series about a different Spartan team as there were so many, who knows with E3 coming up they may shock us but I highly doubt it

> By the way I was told that Halo reach remastered may come out in 2017-2020. but Halo 6 comes out in 2017 if im not wrong and between then and 2020 would be the Reach Remaster. I would love to see Halo ODST with the only armor ability of Jetpack, and some other cool stuff. Good idea by the way and I also find myself more relatable to ODST’s campaign than any main story Halo game.
I feel like odst was more relatable because that games campaign really did make you feel like you were alone if you played by yourself. Also while playing as the other characters you felt like you got to know a little more about each one as you played them. And the endure achievement, man was that exciting to conquer.
I’ve also found it more enjoyable every time I came back to it. I use to waste hours of my time just doing firefight over and over by myself. You actually had to be careful and strategically play or suffer the loss of a life or even end the game. Weapon racks refreshed every round so you had to conservative of what you had if you wanted to make it to the next set on your own.
Reach was a little more forgiving with the AAs wich made it a little easier but ODSTs firefight just felt alot more challenging to me.
