Mahkee 'Chava backstory?

Apologies if I am just dense and happened to miss this somewhere but is there anywhere in Halo 5 or in the extended lore that the female Sangheili pilot Mahkee 'Chava is formally introduced or even mentioned? I have not been keeping up with the more recent Halo literature but from my searching of the Halo wikis I have come up with nothing, she is known only from her brief lines during gameplay.

I understand that her character is somewhat of an homage to Foehammer and Hocus from previous games, so in that regard I have no issues with her being an unseen supporting character with little to no back story. What seems odd to me is that rather than being given a quick introductory line, her first line of the game seems almost mid-sentence, like the beginning of a conversation was cut out. With Foehammer, her introductory line is a distress call after abandoning the Autumn, after which Cortana and Chief are able to respond and team up with her for the rest of the game. Hocus becomes familiar to the player through her assumed history with Johnson, indicated by some dialogue throughout the first few missions of Halo 3.

With Mahkee, it seems like they were going for the same effect, that she and Locke were introduced at some point prior (presumably onboard the Phantom on the way down to Sangheilios), but that wasn’t even hinted at. I think a quick 10-15 second scene in the middle of the opening cutscene for “Swords of Sangheilios” would have been perfect. Just one line is all they needed, something like “Spartans, I am Mahkee 'Chava, Lancer mistress of the Vadam Keep. Welcome to Sanghelios.” Along with a quick shot of her sitting or standing in the cockpit, Vale making her usual shocked/impressed face, and Locke saying some one-liner back, that’s literally all it would take to give her character some more validity and give all the Elite fanboys their first ever real look at a Sangheili female. Instead we get the sense that we missed something that we should have been paying attention to earlier, or that a big chunk was cut out of the cutscene that probably shouldn’t have been.

Again, please.correct me if there is something in the extended lore that does introduce Mahkee. Otherwise, what are your thoughts, theories, speculation on how she is presented in the game?

Sounds interresting.
I think she could live in the Tower of Vadamee or she is the wife of a warrior under the arbiter

To be honest, one of my main complaints with Halo 5 is the lack of actual cutscenes in the game. They keep jumping to little conversations between characters, which in some cases don’t make sence and completely missing others.

For instance, when Osiris get back to Infinity, Palmer takes Halsey by the arm and escorts her away, presumably to a detention cell besed on the way she’s dragging her away. Next time you see her, she’s just wandering around the bridge as if nothing happened. I mean whats going on here?

And the same with the Swords of Sasnghelios mission, one minute your walking towards a Lich, presumably loaded with Elite’s you’ve not yet met, next minute you chatting with Mahkee like your going round for dinner next tuesday.

Halsey was the one who contacted Infinity about the Guardians so Palmer escorted her to the bridge to start working. As for Osiris they loaded into the Lich and in the very next cutscene you see the ship heading towards the planet and as it gets close a Phantom detaches from the bottom to take Osiris planetside.

Is that the female elite?

Please don’t revive old threads.
