With Anvil’s legacy about to launch, and it’s inclusion of the new magnums has got me thinking, how cool would a Halo revolver be?
I love Halo 5’s pistol, and I’m not looking to change that. But rather than get similar variants to the current pistol, I would love to see a revolver. It would have a slower rate of fire, but cause much more damage. They could balance this out with lower aim assist and maybe even iron sights. The gun could only hold 5 or 6 rounds. It would be a heavy hitter that would be difficult to master, but a tool of destruction for the Halo dead-eye masters.
Now for you lore trivia lovers, it could be called Señora Seis. I know that the original Señora Seis was an M6 variant, but it would be a cool throwback.
Those of you unfamiliar with real firearms, Magnum rounds belong almost e**xclusively to Revolvers (there are a few exceptions). Magnums are essentially bullets that have similar diameters to “conventional” bullets, but the casings are a lot longer and you can pack in a whole lot more gunpowder. Revolvers have a simpler design, therefore they can be built stronger than any semi auto pistol, making them perfectly suited for packing bullets with extra punch.

Honestly, yeah. I’d love a slow-fire 4-3SK sidearm. With only six rounds (It WOULD be 7 in Bungie’s hands! Probably still should be) such a powerful round is absolutely justified. An Explosive .50AE is perfectly justifiable with it, too.
I would find that such a weapon might better fit Brutes, however.

Yes M is for Magnum, I know. And I know semi autos in real life like the Desert Eagle can be calibered in Magnum also.
My main point is that revolvers are the old school but ultra heavy-hitting weapons in the small arms world, and it would be neat to see another human sidearm that functions differently than the standard magnum. Who knows, it could even be a quasi-power weapon?

That’s what I’m thinking. A big old hand cannon. But that’s a good point, it would be a good choice for a brute weapon. I mean, those guys would totally sport a 14" handgun lol

But as for having a revolver in a game… I think that would be pretty cool. I would just hope it wouldn’t be anything classic looking though, and would go with a modern/futuristic design. Sorta like Destiny’s hand cannons.

Are militaries don’t use them anymore for a reason. Weight, fire rate, capacity vs a semi auto? I’d rather carry a 9mm with 17 rounds, or a 45 with 8 or 9, then a 44mag with 5 shots.

You know, I didn’t even think of Destiny’s hand cannons until after I posted this. But they did nail the concept. I’m a big fan of revolvers IRL and would love to see their entry into the Halo universe.

How do you know that? Not arguing, I just haven’t heard that Halo ammo is rimless? What exactly does that even mean?
I don’t think that would affect gameplay or the cool factor though- a properly maintained 44 mag or 500 will still be operational centuries from now…

This is true. Semi autos are much cheaper, lighter and have larger capacities. But there’s no denying that a revolver will out range, have greater accuracy, and blow a larger hole than any auto.
