Does anyone else feel like this would really improve this playlist? I am really enjoying it so far, but I think that this would be a great idea. You would still be at an advantage for picking up a rifle, but would be able to at least hold your own with the magnum, instead of trying to feather your AR at long range.

Awesome,thank you.
No, then everyone would just press Y when they spawn to switch weapons to the pistol. Spawning with a scoped weapon is not the way of Halo 2/Halo 3.

Even though Bungie added to to both games after how atrociously AR starts played?
Mag was MUCH weaker in H2 and H3 and lacked a scope. It was perfect for AR starts since you could provide support without a BR and still had to look for one.
The new Mag is too powerful, as stated above, people would abuse it. Sadly. A toned-down Magnum, however, hmmm… Still a scope, but if it’s weak, I guess that’s fine.

It’s already amazingly weak with it being a 6-shot kill. Reach did just fine with its Magnum, and the BR/DMR/Carbine/AR/Whatever are still more powerful than the Magnum within their respective ranges.
It would be much better if got a Magnum. Precision rifles and the Sniper are way too good with out at least that much, especially since there is no descope.
No argument here.
I guess it is difficult balancing the Mag. If it kills in five shots, it can be easily abused along with a Lightrifle. If it has less bloom, it has too much range and if you remove the scope, you’re fodder for ARs and can’t support your team.
I think it’s okay leaving it as it is. It’s by no means as useful for special scenarios, but it gives you some additional precision ammo.
Tweaking it now would probably go horribly wrong.
Maybe H5’s weapon balancing supports a Reach or even a CE M6D pistol.

But it’s called “Legendary Slayer”, not “Halo 2/3 Slayer”.
Yeah. It’s needed. They Should Halo like Team - BR’s , Team - DMR’s ect.

They can tune a weapon by playlist. So technically, Infinity Slayer can’t be effected by a weapon change for another playlist.
I don’t understand why there’s even an argument… It’s a pistol people. Maggie and Sultan Assault were made for each other. Plus, she ( Maggie) provides a good counter to BR users at that awkward range in between medium and close.
I would say “bring the H2/H3 pistol back to the playlist to make picking up a precision rifle worthwhile”… But those pistols only worked at keeping BRs at bay by surpressing their aim with the descope mechanic. Guess that’s not an option now…
So i guess it would be overused if it were to make it into the playlist, because it is a bit TOO good as a secondary weapon. While winning medium range 1v1’s with a magnum is very difficult and “skillful”, it can still very easily take down shields by spamming for other people to clean up faster, something that wasn’t possible in Halo 2 and 3. Even Reach’s magnum wasn’t as accurate as the H4 magnum.
So I wouldn’t mind it either way. If you add magnums, it will behave more like Reach: you already have a decent secondary and you aren’t helpless at long range. Without magnums, you have an awkward lack of a secondary, and you are helpless, but at least the precision rifles are very worthwhile to pick up. You get a big reward for going out of your way to pick it up. They are different, but i’d like them both.
Make this thread a poll so I can vote yes to magnum secondaries. A precision weapon voting option with AR secondaries wouldn’t hurt either.
