Magnum 24/7 = no fun I think : (

I’m really not enjoying the Anniv Edition of Multiplayer at all. Single player is insane awesome though.

Just with multiplayer it has become sooooooooooooo stale that ONLY thing people use in this so far are magnum 24/7. I hope this is fixed or nerfed to some degree.

And YES, I did read the magnum was going to be strong. But I thought 343 would have enough sense to balance it out better so the games would be more fun. Seems like 343 is trying to make Halo: Call of Duty Anniv Edition. I so detest COD though :frowning:

Anyone else feel this way about multiplayer?

Feels great to me. You can become very skilled with the three shot pistol. You just gotta practice with it. I think the playlists might benefit from a small movement speed increase and small jump height increase and it will be perfect.

I played a single game in the playlist, had 14 kills and only 7 with the magnum.

Just feels too fast to me and lifespan is too short. 50% of kills with magnum is way too much. I don’t know. Everything feels justway unbalanced.

Very disappointing so far it is to me.

Also just wish there was a Slayer Playlist. And by Slayer I mean deathmatches, Halo objective gameplay not a fan of at all. But there are people that do like it. Be nice to have a playlist for each.

Right because in halo if you were good your TOD 90% of the time in Halo 2, 3 or reach was the BR/DMR (MAYBE sniper, if you’re a jerk like that) Maybe you might go with melee for the 10% other.

None of this is surprising.

My point has been made.

Wow. Very intelligent and well thought out response. Your mom must be proud.

Yet another fine example of the broken public school system.

I know. People like that poster above make intelligent conversations rare in forums.

Just hope 343 decides to balance the game out more. The single player is VERY enjoyable. Can see myself playing that a good bit waiting to see if multi is balanced before trading the game in.

U say this game is unbalanced with the pistol?! How? If everyone starts with the pistol then its fair for everyone! Now if u keep getting killed by a pistol while u have a pistol in Ur hand then u just have no skill yet simple as that. It would be unbalanced if there were all these types of weapons like hammers and noob weapons. That’s why halo multiplayer isn’t taken seriously anymore because there is no technical skill involved anymore, with the return of the pistol I hope things go up for haloo.

The CE magnum worked because pulling a 3-shot kill was actually difficult. In Reach, headshots come at ten for a penny, so what we’ve got is a smaller, more deadly DMR.

i just went into custom games with my brother and he stood still and i shot him 3 times in the head and he wasn’t dead so idk what you guys are talking about?

I agree the Magnum is bad for the game. For those who say go back to Reach, well they are upgrading Reach to have the same magnum (aka TU beta).

There really is no good reason to search for weapons with the Magnum in CEA and “TU”, you have a way better DMR and if you catch off guard it’s as good as a rocket launcher because before they can turn around their dead.

I’ve played 7 games in CEA and all 7 I had the most kills with the Magnum. Hell one was even shotty snipers and I had 10 kills with the Magnum for crying out loud.

The overpowered magnum was fun for a minute but now it’s just boring and is ruining my want to play the game, CEA or Reach.

Op are you saying that when you stumble upon rockets, you don’t bother to pick it up because you have a magnum?

Power weapons now have to be used tactically. You actually stand a chance against someone with a power weapon, unlike before where the battle would be decided in what weapons people were holding.

I hate playing with out the magnum. The DMR can go for all I care.

I kind of agree, the pistol is wayyy too quick of a kill to the point where it feels like call of duty. My too suggestions would to make a new playlist with zero bloom DMR and AR starts, with the magnum as pickup, or simply slow down the rate of fire on the pistol. It’s too fast of gameplay. Everything else though is good, except maybe the jump height, once again, that feels like call of duty too.

welcome to halo CE

You guys on some mighty fine weed, mind sharing some because that some good stuff right there if it’s making you think that about CE:A Mangum. It’s perfect…

Perfectly flawed that it is :stuck_out_tongue:

This is the way it was in the original C.E. I’m guessing you didn’t get introduced to Halo when it was first released and you’ve gotten comfortable with the BR (from Halo 2 and 3/ODST) and/or Reach’s DMR.

I remember getting head shots with the pistol from half a map away on Blood Gultch. The pistol is meant to be high powered in C.E. gametypes and remained my favorite weapon thoughout Halo 2 as well. It is wonderful and I am absolutely thrilled to have it back in this form.

Why complain about it since there is still many other Reach playlists? It is quite silly really. If the weapon bothers you that much, simply don’t use it.

I’ve had an Xbox since day 1 (when I say Xbox, I mean Xbox, not 360), and was a beta tester for Xbox Live. Chances are I’ve been playing Halo much longer than you and playing video games before your parents even had their first date : ) lol

But the magnum is too over powered. There is no reason to get a rocket launcher or shotgun. You can jump over a rocket a good many times, and the shotgun you have to be right up in their face. Now the magnum, ok . . . you have a portable sniper rifle the moment you spawn.

This makes spawn times waaaaaay too fast. By the time you spawn, try to orient yourself to where you are on the map you are dead – the worst map for this is Hang 'em High. So why even bother going for a power weapon?

The rate of fire needs to be decreased and I’d even suggest raise the bloom to make it more inaccurate. Why? Cause I see tons of n00bs running magnum 24/7 with autocenter on. Really? How is that fun? How is that considered competitive?

Bottom line is games have evolved (no pun intended) and Halo needs to evolve with it or get left behind. Look at Major Nelson’s top played list each week for Live activity (http://majornelson.com/). Other then the week coming up where Halo will rank a little higher for it is a new title, you will see Call of Duty, Battlefield on the top spots consistently and Halo drop down the charts again by next week.

Granted I despise Call of Duty for the gameplay is way too fast and whoever spots who first wins majority of the time. Some people like that style of game play, well say majority since it dominates the charts now, but I am not a fan of that. I like to have at least a little gun battle.

And that is why I really enjoyed vanilla Reach. There was a gun battle. The jumping was not stupid insane as in other Halos where you were shooting at hopping bunnies all over the place. I considered all Halo games until Reach, “Watership Down in Spartan Armor”.

The Halo Annv is not a horrible game, but I feel it can be updated to be a much much much better game.

Now I am referring to the multiplayer with this post. The single player is lots of fun and a great remaster of a 10 year old game.
