> This is the way it was in the original C.E. I’m guessing you didn’t get introduced to Halo when it was first released and you’ve gotten comfortable with the BR (from Halo 2 and 3/ODST) and/or Reach’s DMR.

> I remember getting head shots with the pistol from half a map away on Blood Gultch. The pistol is meant to be high powered in C.E. gametypes and remained my favorite weapon thoughout Halo 2 as well. It is wonderful and I am absolutely thrilled to have it back in this form.

> Why complain about it since there is still many other Reach playlists? It is quite silly really. If the weapon bothers you that much, simply don’t use it.
I’ve had an Xbox since day 1 (when I say Xbox, I mean Xbox, not 360), and was a beta tester for Xbox Live. Chances are I’ve been playing Halo much longer than you and playing video games before your parents even had their first date : ) lol
But the magnum is too over powered. There is no reason to get a rocket launcher or shotgun. You can jump over a rocket a good many times, and the shotgun you have to be right up in their face. Now the magnum, ok . . . you have a portable sniper rifle the moment you spawn.
This makes spawn times waaaaaay too fast. By the time you spawn, try to orient yourself to where you are on the map you are dead – the worst map for this is Hang 'em High. So why even bother going for a power weapon?
The rate of fire needs to be decreased and I’d even suggest raise the bloom to make it more inaccurate. Why? Cause I see tons of n00bs running magnum 24/7 with autocenter on. Really? How is that fun? How is that considered competitive?
Bottom line is games have evolved (no pun intended) and Halo needs to evolve with it or get left behind. Look at Major Nelson’s top played list each week for Live activity (http://majornelson.com/). Other then the week coming up where Halo will rank a little higher for it is a new title, you will see Call of Duty, Battlefield on the top spots consistently and Halo drop down the charts again by next week.
Granted I despise Call of Duty for the gameplay is way too fast and whoever spots who first wins majority of the time. Some people like that style of game play, well say majority since it dominates the charts now, but I am not a fan of that. I like to have at least a little gun battle.
And that is why I really enjoyed vanilla Reach. There was a gun battle. The jumping was not stupid insane as in other Halos where you were shooting at hopping bunnies all over the place. I considered all Halo games until Reach, “Watership Down in Spartan Armor”.
The Halo Annv is not a horrible game, but I feel it can be updated to be a much much much better game.
Now I am referring to the multiplayer with this post. The single player is lots of fun and a great remaster of a 10 year old game.
