Has anyone else noticed the insane army wipe that comes after a maelstrom+Rain of Fire/Eradication/Cataclysm? Playing in 3v3s with a squad and we wiped whatever army came our way.
To be clear, I am in no way calling for a nerf, I believe that it is pretty balanced, maybe an increase in power, to 1000, but the power itself should be left alone imo. Im just asking for any thoughts or experiences, and any other opinions on it. (I just didn’t want to start a nerf cry here without more input)
Yeah, even in 2v2s its still a pain in the -Yoink-.
And it feels cheap too, theres not much skill in eradicating an army that cant move!
Compare it to stasis (when your units cant be damaged) and it seems ridiculous
I found that assigning groups to units and sreading them out work quite well to counter it.

I agree, especially since maelstrom is able to be dodged (and is dodged fairly often by a good portion of the army). I think ehat makes it so deadly is when people arent paying attention, and walk their remaining army into the AOE, dooming them too

One could consider teamwork a skill, but either way the point still stands.
It’s very good. The AI will actually coordinate it together so it can be a real pain against a team like Voridus and Atriox where you eat the entirety of the Eradication.

teamwork is most definitely a skill… especially when you play with randoms

That and you can teleport/stasis/bulwark out of the damage. Yeah these chain abilities aren’t op. If you’re not putting your leader points into things like this you should probabaly be compensating in other ways. ROF3 takes 3 leaderpoints in the same way inferno or eradicate takes 1, so if someone’s complaining about rof3 or a maelstrom/infusion wake/cataclysm/whaterever else, cutter could of dropped in half an army and dropped two offensive powers. Pavium just needs a slight cost buff. Most of his 3+ tier powers are way more than worth the cost

Maybe if you have air, most vehicles take a half second to start moving. Like I said not saying it’s not impossible to dodge but it’s a bit unbalanced
