gameplay is fun. But like ive been saying though…scap this pos ranking system… halo3 is the best wha makes its so hard to mirrior it? Hell i think mcc ranking system is better than halo5. 7 ranks is not enough its not hard enough if people are maxing out in the beta? Its gunna die like halo4 doesnt matter if it is a fun game just no competitiveness
It’s a beta - I’m sure they haven’t fleshed out the ranking system yet, it’s likely to be one of the lowest on their priority list at the moment.
yeah I’d rather see the Halo 3 type ranking system back as well.
It’s a pretty unforgiving ranking system and hopefully it gets improved for the final game. I would like something similar to the H3 ranking system but even that one had extreme flaws.
Semi Pro isn’t maxing out. Halo 3’s system was flawed. It’s never coming back so just let it go. Something a huge part of this community needs to realize. Boosters ruined it for all of us.

What do you mean…u realize you can lose that semi pro right…the ranking is amazing u have to keep playing…the problem is the ppl that are extremely good at the game automatically assume everyone is good which is not the case…and others are just not team players…so they can’t wrap there heads around the fact that they uve to win to keep ranking up…every game mode should judge you on solo performance Huh? Sounds right
Rank should only be use for “balanced” matchmaking. Everything else is a e-peen measuring contest with no real winner decided.

How can you see the ranking System is lowest on their priority list? The ranking system is one of the MAIN things that made Halo 2 and 3 so addicting. The lack of a good ranking system is what made Halo Reach and 4 flop so hard
The League system is broken and it lacks replayability. This is easily the most complained about thing in the beta

Funny how low skilled players always try to say ranking systems are “epeen contests”. The 1-50 is one of the main reasons Halo 2 and 3 were so loved. Trying to rank up is what made people trun on their xboxes everyday. When people are already reaching max rank in THE BETA there is a problem. Maybe YOU don’t like them but it is beyond obvious the majority of Halo fans do like the 1-50
I think they got the ranking up part down as in you rank up by wins its acualy close to halo3 but qithout the “ranks” but they realy need 1-50 and i read that once u reach semipro thats it no down ranking
It’s funny when people say that they want the Halo 3 ranking system without actually being there when Halo 3 was played.
H3 had one of the worst (actual) ranking systems, and the best one was from Halo 2.
Halo 3’s faults were in that if you were on a fresh account then you had the easiest and quickest ways to get to a 50 (which were why so many level 50 accounts were made since they could be made quickly). As long as you had a decent team, you could get to a 50 in a minimum of 14 games (that was the quickest I’ve seen anyways). If you played a lot of games (any game, it really didn’t matter as long as it upped your game count) then you would end up having the frustrating time to even rank up once.
For instance, I was doing Lone Wolves, I got my rank to a 45, it took more than ten 1st place wins to get to a 46, and then it took one time of getting 4th place to drop back to a 45. After that, it did not matter how many times I won a match, I would never rank up again.
Well before the boosters and bew accounts it was fun… like i said if they put the ranking from lets say onyx 1,2, and3 into a 1-50 and acualy paired u with people in that range it would be a great way… but if they insist on using silver, bronze etc they better be putting many typea of metals lmao like cobalt, zinc, etc otherwise itll die the way halo4 did

Bump
I really don’t understand why the dislike for the system, especially if you were a fan of halo 2 or 3’s system.
Progression works the same way, you win matches, you rank up, lose matches you rank down.
Lose matches against lesser skilled opponents, you’ll rank down faster. Win matches against higher skilled opponents, you’ll rank up faster.
From that perspective, things haven’t changed much.
The main difference between this system and the previous is that this one is more transparent. You actually see how your skill level is being calculated between matches.
Another difference is that one you reach semi pro, rank is actually reflective of your position world wide. Not just a general estimate of your skill. That’s pretty cool, and if THAT doesn’t motivate you to keep moving up, I don’t know what will…
Please don’t bump.

What’s really funny is how you treat H2’s 1-50 the same as H3’s 1-50 and then make generalisation claims.
You also don’t seem to understand that max rank in H5 isn’t a cap, it’s a percentage. When you’re Pro, you’re top 200 of the top 5%. If you’re Semi-Pro, you’re top 5% or so.
If you’re Onyx, you’re not the top percentile.
It’s all about percentiles and where you place so H5 cannot be as poor as H3 in relaying UP TO DATE standings.
You also don’t seem to understand that players were making 50’s daily in H3 just to sell them. The MLG playlist consistently had more players as 50’s than 25’s… If the system was working properly, you would not see the majority of players in a playlist existing as the upper echelon… It mathematically cannot work that way UNLESS there is unnatural interference (multi-account 50’s).
What’s worse, using the Internet to find out just how easy it is to get a 50 in H3 can really bring one down.
… H2’s 1-50 and H5’s system are more similar than H2 is to H3 because H2’s is consistent. The difference being is that if you walk away from H2 when getting a rank, you can keep that rank BUT in H5, you can loose that rank due to others filling your division better than you.
Of course we will have players reaching max. rank in the Beta… It’s all about getting to be top 5% and/or 200.
I dont care about random numbers on a plate, i want perks, customization, stuff i can take with me to the battlefield.

Go play CoD or Battlefield then, that garbage does not belong in Halo.
Only thing you should be able to unlock would be things that change aesthetics, and NOT anything that actually affects gameplay in any way.

You are awful. I got 50 in every playlist, other than MLG which I had a 47 in. It is cake if you are skilled to do it. If not then you will never get that high. You will be stuck at crap 40 which determines that you don’t have the skill to be higher. Halo 2 and halo 3 had the best rankings systems so far. You just mad cause u stuck at 45 to this day.

Well, their are Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III of Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Onyx rankings, thus making it 15 ranks there. I’m sure they will have improved icons representing each tier in the final game.
And semipro & Pro are LIMITED rankings. Once you hit semipro you are on a leaderboard with a numerical ranking linked with a performance score. I have not seen confirmation of an official number of semi-pros (around 2000 I believe) but there will only be 200 pros across the world in the game (per playlist).
