Over the last maybe 6 months I have been grinding out halo in a effort to get to 152 like many of us are. Of the last month or so, my availability to play has only gotten worse as my work schedule demands more time. But yet I am still making progress. I am doing it completely without mirco transaction purchases, not because I have great distaste for them, but the fact that I have no money to have bought/buy the legendary boosts when they are available. Besides, something about doing the feat without becoming a wallet warrior sounds great, but I am no sure If I can do it without atleast buying a few later. My playlists are always warzone, infection and what ever is the double xp playlists. Fiesta has also been very good to me with xp payouts. I wish I could spice it up and play the ranked matches more as I really want to get into the competitive scene but the xp payouts are not as great as the social or warzone playlists. I am so far in, but yet miles from the finish line.
Good luck to you. What I did was save my req points until the platinum or xp packs were available and only bought silver packs if I ran out of xp boosts. If you haven’t already, you could purge your req collection to get extra rp when the xp packs are available. By 145 you should have a good idea of what reqs you will use and what will just keep accumulating. The first time I purged my collection, I got over 30K rp just from arena assist gambits.
When your playing, be sure to occasionally play the playlists you enjoy even though they aren’t the best xp payout. If I had grinded solely for xp I would have given up after 1 night of wzff because I can’t stand it

I always keep those assist gambits, they actually pay out decently if you’re at the top for assists in an arena match.
I pretty much always am. Whether it be lag or just my own mediocrity, I lose a lot of 1v1 battles or get flanked by a coordinated team. But, the damage I did will often get cleaned up by a teammate, resulting in a lot of assists.
Of course, this is just me specifically.

i purge all the time or atleast keep a standing 10 of each req, because i try to play smart and use what the situation needs at the time. My problem was that i played assault too much and hemorrhaged my best xp makers like tanks and splasers. Its taking a while to build that up again.
Best of luck Spartan!
Its definitely a grind. Im hoping they could try and do like Double RP weekend. I burn through reqs grinding firefight.
Definitely best of luck! I’m 60% done in terms of xp and oh boy, its tiresome.
Keep it going. You got this.
welcome to Hell
I’m SR149 now, about an 8th of the way through. I’ve all but given up, though. It’s super depressing to get 3000xp in an Arena match and watch the bar barely move.

Wait 'till you get to the games that net you 11,000 ~ 16,000 and you don’t see the bar move at all
151 to 152 is a nightmare.

Yup. It’s a soul crusher.

I think I played for some months to grind down the 11 million or so I had left to hit 152. I really don’t have much reason to play Halo 5 now other than just finding it fun.
Anyway, the grind from 151 to 152. I feel that it’s a lot harder if you picked it up recently than if you were at 150 a year ago, but it’s still harsh. It’s easier (mentally) if you don’t check your progress after every other game though
I do still appreciate the ranks though. While 151 to 152 is one massive grind, it was an improvement over Halo 4’s. I think they should have implemented Reach’s “Challenges” however, it’d habve helped a lot. Maybe for Infinite?

I love the challenges. Completing all the “to-do’s” is one of my favorite parts.
