Nothing new though? Meaning this type of cross influence is the norm with all entertainment avenues, as well as art. Not a big deal in my opinion. The problem is, with the current game they took too much from other games and didn’t stick to enough of the basics.
Don’t think I want to watch this if it’s just going to talk about CoD. Any reviews from my fellow Waypointers?

It’s not a long video and it has no words. It just shows one game doing something and then Halo 4/Reach doing nearly the exact same thing, the examples aren’t all from COD.
IMHO, fair play for things like the promethean vision, dexterity, or the hard light shield, etc. but it’s a little unfair to say they “took” the idea of evading or jetpacking even. You don’t mention it but people also say that sprinting was taken from COD. At some point it’s simply the natural evolution of FPS games; you need a better way to move around and a jetpack on a many-ton heavy armor guy seems like one of the few feasible ways to get them to move better vertically. It actually seems more silly to me that you can’t naturally roll/jump away from grenades and such since that would be my first reaction in real life…

A good review…I agree on the evade thing. Besides wasn’t that a part of Halo 3? And didn’t that come before the Gears game in the video.
Anyway, I sure wish I could roll jump in real life! You must have ninja like reflexes buddy!

Would be amusing if someone made a response video doing the same thing, but with CE-3 and Quake, etc.
If I had some knowledge, talent, and drive to be productive I might have myself.
Some of it is I see but some of it is kinda stupid like evade , jetpack, etc which was all available in SWBF1 and jetpacks in tribes , so I guess those games that was showed in video copied the games I said? Probably.

You don’t need much knowledge nearly every shooting game before halo CE and after around 2007 had arena game. The differences is that halo CE in terms of movement was slower paced , 2 weapon system , and recharging shields.
As for sprinting I remember sprinting wasn’t in COD until COD3 , but SWBF2 had it before COD and probably earlier BF games had sprint as well.
Just watched it… Not seeing any meaningful point being made. So Halo borrows stuff from other games? Gee, didn’t know that.
It’s how things have always been, and it’s not even necessarily a bad thing.

This attitude is the reason why Halo has gone downhill. Some of us want a Halo game not a clone of another game.
To everyone who replied: I recorded all the clips and made this video in one day. There are so much other stuff that can be added to this video, but I was in a rush to finish. Thanks for watching

Sure, attack me as a person and not my argument. It’s not going away you know.
If you don’t want a “clone” you shouldn’t be playing Halo at all, as it’s obviously just Marathon with Unreal Tournament’s multiplayer slapped on. I mean, they’re even all sci-fi FPS’s! What copying.
