Machinima in Halo 5?

With the lack of Co-Op and bugs occurring in theatre mode and overall lack of forge, how do you think the new machinima community will adapt to producing work in Halo 5? leave the theories below and don’t forget to vote on the polls. Please note I already know that forge is coming in December. We better be able to spawn elephants…

forge is coming back in December

Someone will do it even if they suck at it someone will eventually.

When forge releases in December, YES.

Once forge kicks in I expect to see some great machinima thanks to how amazing Halo 5 Forge’s potential is.

Some RvB dude said that Halo 5 was going to be good for Machinima makers.

I hope its good enough. I hardly made any machinimas in halo 4’s life due to the weapon issues and other things. MCC made things a bit easier.

Only issue for halo 5 is no split screen. I usually used split screen to create my videos but now I HAVE to get other people if I need a shot involving more than one person. Ugh.

So true

It’ll be great for it as long as the weapon lowering is fixed.

This times infinity. MCC got it right by having the weapons stay lowered AND having weapon lowering being capable over Xbox live. Quite honestly MCC has been a machinima director’s best friend with amount of options of any halo

As long as rvb continues it’s all good in the hood.

Machinima is dead in regards to Halo. The developers never cared for it save for Rooster Teeth which is what reins in the dosh for Microsoft. We’ve already learned that you factually can’t trust their advertising so why trust them for anything else? Machinima is being severely restricted so that only those with the proper workarounds, money and dedication would work with it.

Definitely agree about the workaround, money and dedication part

The only restriction is weapon lowering right now. Juggling 4 controllers in split screen wasn’t exactly something I’m fond of. With dedicated servers, there’s no risk of lag in the footage, so it’s fine now. Makes body acting an actual job as opposed to the occasional, “I need someone to help me do an action scene since this doesn’t require weapon lowering!”

New Forge is going to change machinima. But as long as we don’t have weapon lowering, it’s all for not.

Hopefully, we will see a bit of a renaissance of Machinima happen soon. I remember the days of Halo 3 and Reach. So much greatly directed machinimas such as Phil, Spriggs, and any John CJG produced work. I just want it to resurge again.

It easily could if weapon lowering was a thing. In Halo 4 we had half weapon lowering and that caused way less people to use it for machinima, and they all regressed back to Reach, which has been entirely used up in terms of situations and locations.

RvB will take care of that.

Pick one.

RvB is mostly animation and CGI though, which I must admit, makes it easier for the body actors but what I’m talking about are the creation of more series that are funny and not just some rise of spartan ripoffs.

When you face the reality of things, there’s only so much you can do with Halo before it becomes the same, old recycled scenarios all over again.
Red vs Blue is the one series that broke beyond the boundaries of what was feasable in Halo (unless you count Arby ‘n’ the Chief or any other live action stuff). Everything else would just be compared to it from here on and considering the poor reputation the franchise and it’s developers have now, people will just be turning a blind eye anyway.
