I’ve seen a lot of people lately just drive their warthog up to my base, and fire a mac round at it
what a waste of 600 resources…
and it doesn’t even damage my base to a large amount…
anyone else getting a lot of MAC rushes lately?

Did i do that to you?
Opps.
Try 1v1 or party 2v2/3v3 games.
Yeah the same thing had happened to me on 1v1, but it didn’t really do much damage to my base. I recall that a descent rush in 3v3 was to have three Cutters and drive a warthog to an enemy base and have all three players MAC the enemy’s base. Pre-patch, it would destroy the base.

That sir, is a terrible rush…I had it done to me in the past, it will only destroy a human base with no buildings or a Covy base not at Citadel level and that was pre-patch.
Oh and guess what. if you managed to do it early enough to destroy a player then you went reactor 1st (250 res) then Mac (600 res) good job you now have no resources prepare to get rushed out of the map by the remaining 2 players.
way back when i used to play 3v3 party we had 3 matches in a row with a group who thought they were awesome because they would drive over to our base put 3 mac in it. fail to destroy it and then resign.
Not sure if it can be pulled off with the current TU settings, but back in the day I’ve tried this before. Success or failure… either way it was sooo funny. But not a method of attack I would use in a serious match.
I’d put it on the same level as building 40 Cyclops units or having an army of Elephants or Choppers hehe. It’s something I’d do just for fun quite scarcely.
Army of Elephants can be hilarious. in 2’s we we’re playing a pair of low ranked people after taking out one of the two my friend just blockaded the other guys last base in with elephants. As soon as he realized there way no way out of the blockade he resigned.

Someone’s not very good at maths. We do this sometimes for the lulz. It also works when you replace cutter with forge, also makes it seem less obvious so it works better, but of course it’s then harder to make a comeback if it fails, but it’s in no way impossible =)
It’s way possible
against 2 covanent go reactor 3rd or 4th with 3 to 4 gunner hogs. Two cutters Mac first covie and finish it with hogs. Then drive over to the next covie and Mac the base. Finish it off with the 15 or so hogs you now have. (d-bombs can be dropped) What do ya know it’s a 1v3 and you’re Eco isn’t that bad. Now have fun turtling the last guy. XD
Try running double Cutter and having them both go Reactor 1st and head over to either an Anders or a Forge base. You can kill it with 2 MACs as long as you hit them before their 2nd Pad finishes.

surprise repair kit Cyclops can be devastating if done right. all you do is distract the enemy at one base with hogs, then pelican Cyclops to another base.

The best part of cyclops’s are the animations they have, where they will occasionally pull parts off buildings and vehicles to us as clubs or projectiles.
