Mabey it's it's time halo 5 should enter the MCC

I’m not sure about everyone else halo 5 search is really buggy recently and it’s not 343Is top priority.

MCC still receives updates and patches so we all know the game will get the same treatment if it’s put into the MCC.

Also if it did happen I can see 343I a major well needed improvement to the customizations.

Devs have already confirmed this will never happen; game is too big, plays too differently, and wouldn’t be beneficial overall.

Being in MCC doesnt guarantee patches and updates to the game you want, just as it doesnt guarantee more players will play your preferred title; It only guarantees that the other titles recieve less development work than they need. Just look at H2A, H2C, and Halo 4, which to this day are still not in a good state, and are each missing major pieces of content.

It’s too big for MCC, but I think they should port it to the PC. If anything just so a lot of players can have a complete story. I don’t think it’s right we have every other Halo game on PC except 5. Given not a whole lot happens in 5 story wise, but PC players should still be able to experience it themselves instead of having to watch a YouTube video on it.

And the only reason H2A, H2C and H4 are still having issues is because H3 kept hogging the seasonal spotlight.

aye, which was itself a direct result of choosing to port MCC to PC instead of leaving it and reworking Halo Online into the Halo 3&ODST PC port the PC community wanted since before 2018. (Honestly, I’m surprised they didn’t do that since it would have guaranteed a solid release for the 20th anniversary, and given a solid reason to clean up and rerelease the other two ports after alongside porting Reach.)

Why is it “too big”? You can choose to download what games you do, and do not want into MCC. If 343 added the campaign, and the arena side of multiplayer, I think this would be a good addition to the game. H5 forge would also make an excellent addition to the game, along with the custom game settings. You can make pretty much any Halo experience you can imagine.

The developers have already commented that adding Halo Reach to the MCC almost broke the memory limits of the original Xbox One. I can’t imagine what adding the entirety or Halo 5 would do. Halo 5 is better left as a stand alone for the sake of the MCC’s stability.

They added way more stuff after reach

Firefight, new, armours l, weapon skins

Where? Please link me this information.

Not to mention that mostly all the additions made since have been more or less small in scale (weapon skins, maps, armour, etc). It’s as you say. Bringing anything as big as Halo 5: Guardians at this stage to the game could break the duct tape that holds this game together.

By big I mean more than just it’s size. It’s gameplay and content is so different from the other games that the MCC would need a major overhaul for it to work with 5 that it’d be more beneficial to just focus on its own separate release. I’d much rather have it part of the MCC as well, but I know it’s more work than they are willing to do to get it working properly.

Honestly Halo 5 isn’t REALLY that different from Reach or 4 in terms of content, but I’d rather have it get it’s OWN PC release than be added to MCC. MCC doesn’t need any more titles, and people need to start accepting that Halo 5 on MCC will NEVER HAPPEN.

The original blog post has since been removed from waypoint, but here is an article quoting from it.

https://www.tweaktown.com/news/66939/halo-reach-xbox-one-testing-delayed-indefinitely/index.html?_gl=111ypyy1_ga*Wl9sMndKSXJYZGJla2JzejlSNy1mQ3hkRFc4N1E1Y0RNRDBGY052T3k0Z0h2YksxWTdBeUE2TXJ0eWduWFJyTw…

Introducing Halo 5 into the MCC will sky rocket it’s complexity and make it even harder to maintain. Between the 7 blam engines, 2 Sabre engines, and the UE4 engine the dev team has their work cut out for them. Halo 5 has no need to be brought into the MCC.

If they already had issues porting Halo Reach during 2019 to the MCC, I can imagine how Halo 5 Guarding should take another greather issues than this last one, since when XBox Series X / S cames to the public, they already said that Halo 5 Guardians ported to this new generation consoles aren’t optimized, so I’m really see that It won’t happen in a ceartin point of 2020’s, but it might be possible if it’s just ported as a Standalone game instead of become part of the MCC since this MCC version of PC has many issues, the impact of MCC may be stupidly incredible since they just wan’t to have all the entire old version builds in a single build, which has more than 8 engines splitted for each Halo game, and then another 4 engines for the anniversary edition, and finally 2 engines for the only game menu, that’s the reason of why Halo 5 Guardians never will becomes part of the MCC as well, but that means that cannont be ported to PC side, we have the weird version of this called “Halo 5 Forge Mode”, which in my opinion could be the unique way of CGB if you put & use legal mods to allow some tricks that isn’t be think on the XBox One side like upscaling your FOV, using campaign design skins and so on (Check this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XlriRF5ogA), which it would bring a 2nd chance to become like ElDewrito / Halo Custom Edition / Halo 2 Project Cartographer mod projects to bring back to life once more

In fact, Porting Halo 5 Guardians might be possible, but not during 2022, maybe during 2020’s decade if they want to do, but thinking in mind the another problem which becames on Halo 5 guardians: Loot Boxes and monetization systems, so how they would do with this one?

Something to note is that Halo 5 is an Xbox One game so there’s no need for it to be on MCC, MCC was made to play the Original Xbox and 360 Halo games at 60 fps 1080p on the Xbox One back in 2014 (and has since then expanded to the Series S/X and PC at like 4K and unlimited FPS to my knowledge) I mean if Halo 5 is accessible easily on the Xbox One and is backward compatible on Series S/X then why would we need it in MCC? What Halo 5 needs is a full-on PC port just like how MCC got it but I don’t see that coming anytime soon due to how much of a mess Infinite is.

I agree with you, but what content from 2 and 4 are missing? 2: Anniversary makes sense with its lack of maps and vehicles, has the few loadout perks (one of which wouldn’t even work since its based on Halo 4 rank), but I’m unsure of anything beyond that. I suppose 2 and 2: Anniversary don’t have weapon skins or visor colors, but I don’t know if that can be defined as “missing” since that wasn’t on the original game as much as it is “frustrating it’s not in there”.

It was always in the code of odst, the didnt add anything new.

halo ce and halo 3 handles the skins differently than 4 and 5.
In halo ce and halo 3, The skin is a bitmap(from my understanding) tied to its user(who can be anyone)
While in h4 and h5, The gun is essentially a different model. so if an a has 5 skins that means that there are 6 ar’s in the game files hence increasing the size of the game. Thats why whne you pick up a gun in these game the skin dont change whereas in hce and h3 it changes to your skin.
I hope people understand what i wrote

Halo 2 Classic was more on the side of “not in a good state” gameplay-wise than missing content. that being said, supposedly there was one more map from the Blastacular pack that went unreleased when Certain Affinity made it back in 07 they were still interested in releasing, and the Silenced SMG can’t be used without modding the game. there’s also the custom settings for Zombies from the Xbox Magazine disc not being a built in option, though that’s more of a nitpick likely to be fixed with Halo 2 Classic’s release on the CGB.

Halo 4 is really just the remaining loadout perks as well as some of the stuff cut originally, while H2A has a ton of nearly finished stuff and supposedly more maps that were in the works and never finished due to the 2014 launch being rough.

really the point was to highlight that a lot of this stuff would have been much more likely to be added if each game wasn’t competing with each other for updates and development focus, as even 3, ODST, and Reach still have things they need added. Adding Halo 5 on top of that would basically kill any chance of any title outside of 5 getting focus, and slow update progress to an even slower crawl.
