M395 Designated Marksman's Rifle

Personally, I’m looking forward to it in Halo 4. It’s finally what it was supposed to be, a Marksman’s Rifle. Not the “Walk straight at someone and shoot them point-blank with it” Rifle that it was in Reach. I’m sure that other Marksmen will appreciate these this as well.

Changes
Slower RoF (Rate of Fire)
14 rounds in magazine
42 rounds on start (28 plus 14 in clip)
Bloom resets faster
Rounds appear to do more damage
It looks like it has a higher magnification level on the scope, but I can’t tell

DMR is the main reason I hope they beef camo by just a little bit.

To watch some of the MLG players use the DMR it’s like they are using it at close range just fine as well. I’ve had a love for the BR since H2, but it looks like the DMR might actually put it to shame in H4.

Ugh, the scope takes up so much of the screen. The Reach DMR looked a lot cleaner imho.

I’ve noticed that as well, at first I was gung ho about using the BR again… However, after seeing that gameplay I’m very unsure which gun I’ll lean towards at this point

BR for close-up encounters and smaller gametypes, DMR for longer range and larger gametypes like BTB.

I LOVE the DMR, mainly because I like those mid to long range strafing gun fights.

It’s my go to weapon in Reach, and I don’t plan on going back to the BR.

I guess the question is - what sidearm will best compliment it? Ideally something that can take over at the mid range and work in CQC.

That’s the same way I feel

What does marksmanship have anything to do with not being used in close range? The DMR is meant for a player with an accurate shot.

I actually love the look of Halo 4’s DMR, perhaps even more than the one in Reach.

I agree OP.

Though, Pre TU, it was like that too, nobody just used it that way. They underesitmate the AR when bursted.

Because it is meant for Mid-to-Longe Range, not close quarters, not just people with accurate shots.

Basically anyone could use it in Reach.

Hopefully it’ll be less easy to use in Halo 4.
