I feel like this is mainly do to competitive having a lower default TTK. The BR75 kills optimally in ~1.70s, while the Mangler+BR drop combo could kill in 1.30s. You could pick up an AR or Sidekick and still outperform the Mangler combo (within range).
In non BR starts the MA40 AR kills optimally in ~1.25s and the MK50 Sidekick kills optimally in ~1.10s. The Mangler+SK drop combo also kills in ~1.10s, so there is no advantage with regards to TTK in using the Mangler outside of ranked.
The bullet drop feels weird because 343 gave it a reticle that doesnât represent it. Compare the Mangler to the Skewer and youâll know what Iâm talking about.
Personally I really want to see the DMR, with its scope, in the game. Without a scope is cool too, but the DMR has always been a favorite of mine. If the M6D was included and filled a similar role, I would be stoked for that too!
