What Microsoft is offering is not compensation, it is an rewards offer they have planned with the Xbox Live Rewards team. If you are a rewards member and purchase certain Halo content, you can get a rebate added to your account. Compensation / making it up to the fans has not been detailed out yet, but will be hopefully soon (read Bonnie’s blog post where she speaks about that).
