It’s that simple. Halo is always better with friends, make a ranked FFA playlist where you have to go solo. Let LSS & regular FFA reach their full potential as basically party modes. To those who might bring up people teaming up, it happened rarely in any Halo that had FFA you could queue with friends. The pros outweigh the cons here.
I’ve played LSS with my friends, it’s 400x better than searching alone. Same goes with Rumble Pit.
Yeah when I was actually able to get a decent group of people together we couldn’t play a 4v4 playlist if we had 5+ people even if it’s unranked. In Infinite and MCC. It’s incredibly stupid and wasn’t like this in the past.
Me and my friends would love this ( for the 30st time now ). Jump on a third party voice chat device so we can communicate with one another, fire team up, then team up every single rumble pit match so we can stomp everyone into the ground. In event modes we’ll take turns doing the objectives so we can maximize the fun for everyone. Sounds like a complete blast for me and the three friends.
Most people don’t do that.
I’m sorry the rest of us like our social game modes to be social.
If you’re that focused on winning and you’re worried about a group of friends being cheaters in the casual playlists you really need to reassess why you’re in social in the first place. That attitude belongs in Ranked.
That said, I wish 343 would treat Ranked and Social separately. Give Ranked and Social similar game modes, including their own event modes. Keep BR starts in ranked. AR starts in social. Social with no SBMM, Ranked with SBMM. Social, no fireteam rules. Ranked, whatever rules depends on the playlist.
I’m tired of the amount of people who complain that their team sucks in social. Last night there were 2 in the Yappening playlist. Just let me bonk people with a hammer with my girlfriend!
Ok…?
We just enjoy having fun together, something wrong with that? I thought that’s what social was all about, playing together is how we generally do enjoy playing is all.
If by most people don’t do that, I’m guessing you mean most people playing don’t have friends and all to play with. But unfortunately that’s not something I can really do anything about, nor is it even my problem they’re in that situation to begin with.
That’s all I want too.
I snapped back because what you said was pretty much why 343 hasn’t done it. They are afraid of little Timmy being teamed up by 5 players at once.
If your friends are anything like mine, we’re trying to sabotage each other from doing well.
The idea is that Social FFA (Rumble Pit) should prioritize the fun modes like Ninja Slayer, Snipers only, Skockets, Fiesta, etc. and should be played socially (without winning being an absolute necessity) and therefore people should be able to queue up and play with friends (been that way in past Halos).
Ranked FFA is where it absolutely should not be allowed. That is where playing fairly, competitively and with the objective of winning is the main focus.
Social FFA has been queue-able with friends since H2. People teaming is a rarity, there’s far more people that want to just kill their friends than there are who want to ruin the experience for everyone else.
Would you be more amicable if this change came along with an actually ranked Solo queue FFA playlist?
I have… Certain mixed feelings on this. While I think queueing with friends is fantastic for letting people play together, being forced to play against that kind of sucks, in the form of “Man, these guys never miss a beat, and I can barely find an angle while my teammates are eating glue”
I think having different playlists or weighting to playlists where Teams are more likely to play against Teams would honestly make a huge difference.
You can shout all you like about how your “mates” just want to kill each other. But you know that’s the minority. Most will be out to milk XP, set up challenges, and generally be -yoinks-.
This entire mentality is wrong. Just because you’re with people, doesn’t make you a ‘squad’. Plenty social, not in the way I’m talking about though.
I know it’s not a minority otherwise more people would play LSS or Rumble Pit. But nobody played LSS and Rumble Pit is at the bottom of rotation.
If people really wanted to team up, the population for LSS & Rumble Pit was/is small enough that all you have to do is search at the same time and you’ll probably get put into a game with each other.
I did this multiple times in LSS to just play with my friends. The pros outweigh the cons.
I would say the majority don’t even have friends actually, lol. There’s plenty whiners on these forums complaining about the teammates the matchmaker gives them to imply that.
But there will definitely be plenty of people who use this feature so they can purposely frustrate others by teaming up instead of killing each other and stomping everyone to the point that only they have fun. But if 343i went through with this, they would be telling everyone it’s ok for this to happen. Hell, even with out friends, if someone is pulling way ahead of everyone else it’s generally smartest to sort of team up by targeting him first in engagements so he doesn’t get any more of a lead then he already has and catch up to him.
People already abuse fire teams in competitive by teaming up with people much lower in rank so that they face easier targets. It’s pretty obvious people will abuse it in FFA matches because they would be allowed too, and to them only their fun matters.
Also, the guy your talking too is a talk first think sometime way later type of person who generally only cares about himself. He probably wants this to happen so he can abuse this system, which is why he’s so dismissive of anything negative about it. I’d bet money on it lol. If not to abuse, the only thing that will change his mind is being placed in the situation where he fights that “team” of players who destroy over and over till he actually thinks about it before he opens his mouth.
To be honest, if they do allow, as I mentioned earlier they would be literally telling us this is ok to do. I wouldn’t be surprised if people in my little community go straight into rumble pit with this change just to curb stomp other players. But then, that’s because 343i decided to enable this so.
Resorting to petty insults and ignore any actual points people make? Sad.
If they were to open up FFA playlists to playing with friends. Put down your bet, and prepare to lose some money. Cause I’ve explained exactly why I’d want this. It’s so pathetic to try and discredit my views by saying they aren’t truthfully mine.
I’m not worried about abuse, pal. Why? Cause it barely happened before. Halo 2, 3, Reach or MCC. Barely any teaming in Rumble Pit social.
Never did I throw any insults at you lol. Only insult was calling people who complain about their teammates the matchmaker gives them as whiners, but that wasn’t directed towards you.
As I said, if it doesn’t align with what he wants, he’ll dismiss it as fantasy or make believe like I mentioned earlier. A very reckless way of thinking. If they did open it up and people started abusing it, it could possibly kill peoples interest in doing FFA at all. But he doesn’t care at all about that, only cares that he gets what he wants. It doesn’t seemingly exist in his visions.
I forsee it starting off slowly perhaps, but people will start seeing others doing it, and start doing it themselves. Obviously it won’t be every game, as I said most people don’t seem to bother trying to get friends to begin with. But it will still be a problem.
