Then People are Going to start to complain about LR being overpowered orr people can be ironic and praise the Light Rifle for being so powerful that it finally stop people from using the DMR… I still don’t know how it would all work out in practice however. All i can say is atleast there are some attempts at making each loadout balanced.

What I’m wondering is which will win in close quarters.
It’s like the DMR and LR are switching places. The LR is the new dominant long range gun and the DMR will function as an all rounder.
LR was perfect, now it is just becoming the new DMR!
It sounds like 343 is trying to make the loadout options a “horse for courses” sort of thing. The LR will be good at range but will struggle up close. The Carbine and BR will do well close-in but will suffer at range. The DMR will outfight the LR up close, and outfight the BR at range, but will struggle to take the LR at range or the BR/Carbine up close.
At least, that’s what I’m hoping…
Do you people know that the Light Rifle is not hitscan?
the lightrifle will not be stated as overpowered due to the fact the lightrifle takes skill and aiming from the player to use.
players who complain about it will just be the ones who are not good enough to score the kill with it.
the deal with the lightrifle is that its the opposite to the DMR, which is considered easy and ‘noob friendly’ , where as the lightrifle takes some player skill to take people down

As someone who has the DMR as his most used weapon but, only uses it on Ragnarok and Longbowand, also has just about Mastered all UNSC weapons accept for the Railgun/splaser/BR (which are almost done)and, who has used the LR (and Carbine currently), that the LR is a weapon of skill whereas the DMR is not.

Can you rewrite your post, as I find it hard to read/understand? it reads chaotic in some sort of way.
What happens if everyone gives the light rifle a miss and start using the Battle Rifle? Will you say it’s because it’s OP, or will be happy that no other gun can beat it at all but close range?
The Light Rifle requires skill and timing to use. The DMR is currently an over-enthusiastic spamming weapon and the BR is a headshot/kill from the grave burst-fire sprayer.
> the deal with the lightrifle is that its the opposite to the DMR, which is considered easy and ‘noob friendly’ , where as the lightrifle takes some player skill to take people down
Plus, the LR will still have the slowest unscoped kill time, so it’s only real use will be at range unless you’re quite skilled with it. The DMR kills just as fast at any range. So, to the OP, the LR definitely does not become the new DMR.

I already do that.
> Do you people know that the Light Rifle is not hitscan?
The LightRifle is hitscan, but the orange trail which follows the bullet(s) are not instant, they are slightly behind the bullet.

as a lightrifle user, I can confirm this to be true.
Are these changes game wide, meaning are these changes affecting spops as well?

Matchmaking only, but you’ll be able to download the gametypes from a file share & save them from your temporary history as well to play them in Customs.

Thats stinks! Thanks Moa.
I don’t know how to feel, if it becomes the new DMR I’ll feel bad for using it, it requires skill to use and is pretty much perfect already
Finally, I can use the LR…need to take a break from the DMR.
They are making it the Ranged weapon of choice. The DMR will still have its place as a beginners rifle. But people who take time to learn how to use the niche rifles and automatics will out play the DMR. For me it’s always been like this. But with the update it will be like this for everyone.
I love how everyone is saying the LR will become the new DMR.
The DMR was unbalanced because of its effectiveness at all ranges. The Light Rifle is designed for long range combat, and will suffer at close range engagements.
It will not be the next DMR.
