Loyalty to Halo

I find myself comparing Halo 4’s Multiplayer to Halo 3’s Multiplayer a lot and that isn’t fair to Halo 4 or 343 Industries seeing as how Halo 3 had arguably the best MP ever, and even though H4 has a lot of problems I still find myself wanting to play it. Halo Reach and 4 have really tested my loyalty to the Halo Franchise and I almost gave up on it on numerous occasions but I felt like I owed Halo, I owed Halo for helping me escape from and make it through a lot of really bad times in my life. I know it sounds stupid but that’s how I truly feel and I know that a lot of people have left Halo for CoD or Battlefield heck even I did for a bit but I always came back. You might read this and think that I take video games to serious or that I have no life but the truth is Loyalty is almost impossible to come by these days and I feel like Halo is a part of me in a sense. Anyway if you made it this far then thanks and if not then oh well, I just needed to reassure myself to keep believing in Halo whether it goes back to the glory days of H3 or it becomes another generic FPS, either way I’m in it for the long haul. Thanks for reading and good luck 343i I still believe in you guys.

Nah, it’s not stupid at all. I know plenty of people who have used Halo to get their mind off of things, including me. Halo 4 is the time I have had most troubles in my life and the game just helped me bide the time and get me through. But you gotta give yourself credit man; Halo didn’t get you through, you got yourself through. Halo only helped.

Isn’t that what games are about? Being immersed in the game and universe, having fun and making friends?

Indeed, loyalty can be very hard to find and I admire your loyalty to Halo. Like you soldier, I’ll be with Halo to the very end.

When I compare the multiplayers of Halo 4 and 3, Halo 4 is way more intense and interesting. I love Halo 4.

I stopped reading there.

You never played Halo 2 apparently.

Or never played it’s matchmaking. I’ve played Halo 2, but the only multiplayer action I got was local and - in one case - via system link. I didn’t get to the online scene until halfway through Reach.

As for the topic on hand, I pretty much agree with everything the OP said. No need to say anything more since he covered it all ^^

Well you missed out because Halo 2 had the best MM in the entire series by a mile. H2 is still ranked as the best shooter I’ve ever played in my life.

I think your sentiment is shared throughout a large part of the community. As some people have said H2 was the best when it came to multiplayer, but many of us that are still around today (despite the downward trend of the new games) have that same LOYALTY.

I almost left after Reach came out, because I didn’t recognize the game that I loved anymore, but I never left because I believe in this franchise and any Halo game is better than COD. I just don’t know why 343 tried to copy COD with sprint/loadouts/POD’s. Let Halo be Halo. Many Halo fans hate that stuff anyway. Please quit changing the game we love so much!

for the small amount of PC Halo 2 multiplayer I played, I can say that it was one of the worst gaming experiences of my life.

Mostly due to Halo 2’s absurd magnetism and aim assist.

Loyalty is not hard to come by these days at all. I am loyal to the important things in life such as my family, my country and my football team.

As a consumer I may enjoy particular brands over others but if that brand were to ever do something that made it less appealing then you can be sure that I will take my money elsewhere.

This is what I did with regards to halo. It was appealing up until I played halo 4 online and then it lost me. Come Halo 5 I will not be first in line to buy it and I will wait a week or so until I read the feedback of other gamers before I make my decision.
